I had the namesake chicken teriyaki from this place. Unlike some other places, it doesn't give you a side salad by default, so it was just the grilled chicken thighs over rice With the main part - the chicken - I thought it was mostly average. It didn't feel juicy at all - kind of like it was pre-sliced and just sitting there. Thankfully, it wasn't super dry and chewy - but there was practically no moisture with this chicken. What I did like was the grill marks on a lot of the pieces, as a lot of them had a good char. My main issue with this, even more than the lack of juiciness from the meat, was that there just wasn't enough teriyaki sauce. There was some on the chicken, sure, but when mixing this with rice the rice just felt very dry. I've had teriyaki before where the sauce has been significantly more plentiful than it was here - some places even give you an entire separate cup of teriyaki sauce to use. There wasn't close to enough of that sauce present here. The rice was fine - nothing special. Portion-wise, I got about 300g rice and 270g chicken in this dish. It's not a bad portion size, but when compared to other teriyaki places, I've gotten almost double that amount of chicken for less than the price that I did here. Compared to other things in the neighborhood, the price for the lunch isn't terrible, but comparing to other similar spots doesn't reflect great on this place Overall, I think it's a fine spot for average teriyaki - and I'd be interested to get the spicy garlic chicken at some point, but don't come here expecting too much in seattle's native food. 6.5/10

This review for service does NOT reflect my over all experience over the years- just the service I was given, today. I’ve been dining here for over three years. The sever YU on June 27th 2025 @3:49pm made me feel unwelcomed- attempting me to detour to another restaurant since closing time was soon. I attempted to order online prior, around 3:39pm, however, online ordering was closed. The owners and their daughter are amazing. Knowing them being the first consistent restaurant before/after COVID. This treatment seemed unnecessary and unacceptable after years of patronage. The food is always great, however. June 27th, 2015 @5:23 (time of review) I’ve finally sat down to enjoy my dinner from Midori Teriyaki. The cashier from earlier, trying to have me order at another restaurant: at roughly, ordering 12 minutes before closing and exasperating how they only had one order of garlic sauce for my combo I had ordered; have now given me three (pictures at the end of review). The cashier is lazy and I hope to never see her again. What a disgrace to Midori.

Came here by an off chance that it was super close to my hotel. Was hungry and the trusted “food near me” saved me once again. From the outside it looks like a soprano cafe! Old school signage and the windows are super dark, I’ve actually walked past this place when it was closed and honestly it could be mistaken for shut down! You order your food at the 2 ordering kiosks or online. Small menu options but what they do, they clearly do well. They also show the past orders for the day on the screen and it clearly is a very busy spot. I don’t think I waited more than 3/4 minutes for my food. I don’t know whether that’s very worrying or very good. Spicy Chicken was superb, the spice, flavour and portion size was fantastic. Was a little disappointed with the portion of rice given but with the amount of chicken, I suppose I cannot complain. Price wise, I thought a little steep for somewhere only open until 4. $15.50 after tax. Seems a little steep. Overall a good experience, would recommend and would return.
