I have lived in several cities and high-rises around the states and REN by far has made Seattle life a dream. The concierges at the front are fun and wonderful and super helpful if you ever need anything. There is a new bar in the lobby with healthy and delicious food I could eat everyday and wine and drinks and spectacular bartenders 😍😍😍. The whole place is just gorgeous with nature all around like a live plant wall and tech up the wazoo - don't worry about wifi because it's everywhere and your apt will be completely "smart". I love turning off my kitchen, bedroom and living room lights with my phone and adjusting the temp from my bed.
The roof views are so amazing , the TV in the game room is HUGGGE, the amenity space is like a boutique, the bar and grill up there.... ahhh there's just so much to love ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
There are fun events like happy hours and they decked out everything recently for Halloween , 4th of July fireworks viewing was GORGEOUS from here , they have puptails Tues/Thurs for the doggies to play and eat together in the play area- oh and I use the dog grooming/bath area like 1-2 times per week ! It is SO nice washing the pups in the special dog-spa like area . If you do have a dog theres a dogpark across the street (that we go to everyday) and that has been so fun for the dogs. The building is super dog friendly and ALSO surprisingly DOES NOT have that dog- smell that a lot of other places have when they're a building of dog lovers. This is probably because they're cleaning all the time (inside and outside) and also little spurts of aroma-mist come out of the ceilings for added spa like loveliness because REN IS amazing . They really have thought of everything . Also the GYM is phenomenal.
Safety wise - everyone's access only allows them to their floor or the amenity floors so even if someone asks you to buzz them to a certain floor you couldn't do it- safety check✅ Not to mention there's security around overnight at the desk, and there's a gated garage and all doors need your fob or your phone access (because of course in this tech-loving place you can do everything on your phone if you wanted to 🤩).
If you're AT ALL CURIOUS about living here, you just have to check it out. The leasing staff are genuinely super kind and really fun to talk to- and get just as excited as you are when you see the place ☺️.
Other high-rises that I've lived at are gorgeous and have had "all the stuff," like REN, but they have a haughty and cold atmosphere, and you never really feel totally at ease there... What I find so unique about REN is that you can tell the residents, myself included, really get the feeling of home here because of the warm welcoming ambience and people...
Read moreUpdated 08/15 - Community Manager Mary Lyons went above and beyond to help me reconcile the final statement and get the correct numbers. I truly appreciate it. I’m hoping to get the payment instructions soon so I can process the payment soon.
Bumping the rating back to 4 stars where I would have rated without the final statement issue. And shout out to Hannah, Jaime, and Kayla again for making life easier during the 22 months I stayed at REN.
——— Original review with problem with overcharged final statement-
As a resident of 22 months, I can say the building is new (I was one of the early residents of the building), well maintained (shout out to the maintenance team), and conveniently located. It has some good layouts if natural light is on your apartment searching checklist.
There some ongoing issues like the elevators, the internet, the roof top loud music, which other people have commented in their reviews - these have taken away more and more the lifestyle that REN offered. I'd say the management has had attempts to make improvements after complaints, though some issues still come back.
However, what really disappointed me is the overcharging after the move-out. I received the final statement with duplicate utility charges which have been paid prior to the move-out. I was also charged for an additional day of rent and pet fee - for the date that was after my move out date per the notice to vacate - why on earth I need to pay for an additional day of rent after I completely moved out? When I reached out to the receivables team for clarification, I kept getting non-sensible canned messages with NONE of my questions being addressed. I followed up to ask for verification and clarification, and received the exact same canned message from the same Customer Care personnel - In fact this is ironic because my questions should have been addressed if they really care about the "customer", especially a long-time tenant who has always paid rent on time, kept the apartment in great condition, and has been a courteous neighbor and tenant.
I would have given more stars to my experience living at REN where I called home in the past two years. But unfortunately this final statement process ruined it. I would have given 0 star to this move-out final statement process if I could - that's how frustrating the disappointing it is.
The one star go to my favorite part about living here - the concierge (Jaime and Kayla) and Hannah in the leasing office - they really went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and make it feel like home when I first moved to Seattle from NYC. Also the maintenance team who always actioned so quickly on...
Read moreSpeaking from a current REN resident's perspective - a very disappointing leasing experience Reason: REN has 6-8 week rent free promotion and it is one of the biggest reason why i chose REN - cost effective. However, even though i checked repeatedly via email and verbally with leasing professional and was told the apt has 8-week rent free, i was given 4 week rent free on contract. I didn't notice that on paper since i just double confirm about the 8-week rent free with leasing team during the in-person tour 30 minutes before i signed. (there is something called trust) Now i was hold against the paper and they won't acknowledge anything they said which is not on paper. Oh, and you need to apply within 48-hour after you took either virtual tour or in-person tour if you want to get the promotion. I was not in the states and no one told me the videos sent to me was counted as a virtual tour(see? importance of checking definition with them). I thought i was picking one room to do the actual tour from 4 videos for different floor plans. Oh, and nobody mentioned the 48-hour limit for 1b to me as well. Stove top, oven, LED lamp, basically half of the appliance was not functioning well when moving in. It took me 4+ weeks to have a full set of working stove top and oven.
Lesson learnt: As a one-month immigrant in the US, i did my best to check with leasing team about every detail i can think of. Apparently that is not enough. I didn't have a recording device and didn't have everything in writing. There are always some terms on paper i missed out (which is inconsistent with what i heard with my own ear)and they will not tell i did.
Take-away for anyone watching this review: According to the leasing professional, you need to make sure everything they said is in consistent with everything in writing. That includes everything you heard during the tour. So PLEASE make sure you write a summary email every time you tour one REN apartment and make sure every detail is correct and in writing just in case you don't have a chance to argue once the money is paid. Make sure you confirm the definition about every term you can and cannot understand in every document (because there are many) with REN just in case....
Update - Even though under every review, their response is to contact leasing team. I have been contacting the leasing team for a few weeks but all the replies i got is just negative feedback.
However: The concierge team is great and very helpful. The lobby...
