I didn't want to review the quality of the service because the staff seemed friendly enough but staff aside, the quaity of their Gel Manicure is the worst I've ever had. The gel ($90+ service not including my pedi or tip) has completely LIFTED from one of my nails (meaning it is seperated from the fake nail). This means the tech did not properly apply or prep my nails. I've never had this happen before and I've been getting gel nails for over 24 years.
I felt uncertain about getting them done because I asked if they could do the shape of my current nails as a fill in (They said no because they didn't have time due to high volume of customers waiting. Mind you I made an appointment and they accepted it over the phone, not sure why they should impact my service if they are overbooked) but I said fine. Then I asked for acrylic (they had already removed the gel from my previous service) and they told me they could only give me gel because it was "previously gel" which I've never heard before, especially considering that they already removed the gel from my nails. But I said fine as I was in Seattle for a concert and really didn't have time to book another appointment elsewhere. I had the nail tech complete 3 repairs (meaning she took everything off the 3 nails, this includes the thumb in the photo that lifted) and to leave the shape of the rest untouched since they couldnt make them like the rest of my nails. She started on my right hand and began to shape the nails I requested to be untouched. I stopped her from doing this on my left hand when I noticed. Not even my nails that I had them do a fill in on in SEPTEMBER has lifted. The nail set laid by the Seattle tech just a week ago is lifting. I don't understand.
I still tipped for the service and truly wasn't going to leave this review but a couple days ago I noticed smudges under my nails to find out that it is becuase its completley seperate from the gel on top. Again, this is a first, I am from Chicago and never had my nails seperate. So I have to speak up. I would have rather been turned down for the service if it couldn't be completed properly. I don't live in Seattle so I can't even get a refund or get them fixed. Oh well. But yes, this be a great salon for natural nails, but not for medium-long acrylics/gel...
Read moreI really wanted to like this salon - it was close to my work, ladies were nice, and very clean. However, after evaluating the work and my experience, cannot recommend this place to anybody I know.
I used to get my nails done regularly, but now only for special occasions. I was heading out of town for two weeks and wanted to get gel nails. I booked an appointment through vagaro. I came and I’m not sure if the studio was running behind or overbooked, but I waited over thirty minutes to be seen. Which is fine, I understand. Then, I was seen by a very nice lady who told me she is the sister of the owner and is helping out as the owner is out of town. She was super nice and started my service, but I’m just not sure how much experience she has with nails. She cut, cleaned my cuticle, and prepped my nails. Then I waited an additional 45 minutes before I was transferred to another tech could paint. Before painting, she had to recut my cuticle and rebuff my nails. In the end, my normal pedi, mani gel took over 2 hours from the moment I got into the salon.
Not sure if it was because of the prep work, but my gel didn’t even last one week before lifting near the cuticle and getting stuck in my hair. By 1.5 weeks, they were chipping off (see photo). I had to go and get them redone during my vacation because of how horrible they looked.
Before posting this review, I attempted to contact the salon through Vagaro (because I could not find any contact info other than a phone number) to explain my experience and if there was anything they could do for me. It’s been over a week and they have still not replied.
I’m just disappointed because I was excited to find a nail home, but sadly they seem to not care about...
Read moreGiving this a three star because I loved the staff and I loved my nails when I first got them. I had booked an apt day of for some left over acyclic nail remover and to have all my nails painted with gel. Sammy did my nails and helped me decide to get builder gel instead. As my friend who is a nail tech also suggested I do this as acyclic are harsh on nails and make them brittle. But after watching many tutorials and talking to my friend it doesn’t seem like Sammy used builder gel. It seems as she just added extra coats of gel. Usually gel nails alone last me two plus weeks with out chipping. But these nails after only a week started to chip it’s now day 8 and this is where I’m at pictured below. Very sad because I loved the salon atmosphere and how kind the stuff were. Just expected the nails to last longer and to get actual builder gel nails as expected because that’s what I paid for.
On April 20th I booked another appointment after receiving a phone call that they would fix my nails for free. I figured that met they would have my name from the review and coming in the past as well as from the phone call. It was wrong of me to assume they had this info. Mia I believe redid my nails and used the same technical I had as my last appointment. I guess this salon just doesn’t do builder gel and is just lying to people. I’ve seen videos of a slip layer and bead being built this salon...
