We had two recent HORRIBLE food pick-up experiences here now. Both times are with the lady with the pony tail who works in the shop. She is super rude and extremely unprofessional. The first time we ordered pick up from doordash. When we arrived and showed her the pick up receipt, she claimed that we need to click on "confirm" button. We've done tons of pick ups before and nobody has asked for that, because there's no "confirm" button for customers to click on. She refused to help us and asked us to contact doordash. We were super confused. Later on, she kind of realized we were not doordash drivers and blamed us that we should have told her before. This is insanity. For a restaurant, she should be able to see what the order is and is if for a driver to pick up, or customer to pick up. In the end, she did not apologize at all. The second time we ordered directly from google with Clover and we waited for 15 mins before going inside the store. She claimed that she never received the order from Clover and we needed to contact Clover. We were super frustrated and waited for another 10 mins to check with Clover. However, Clover does not provide any contact method for customers, but only for merchants. So, we went inside and checked with her again. This time, she refused to acknowledge receiving the order again. We asked her to check her ordering system. And guess what, our order was right there. So basically, she missed the order and refused to help us. We support small businesses and understand the challenges and do want to help. However, this kind of repeated rudeness towards customers and blaming everything on customers is not acceptable. We've also seen similar reviews from other customers which confirms that these are not isolated instances. We will never return to this...
Read moreThis tiny shop offers a small (but good) salad bar, two soup offerings per day, specialty sandwiches and atypical mini mart offerings. They offer an eclectic array of canned/bottled soft drinks, teas, kombucha, beer and a small selection of wine.
As with all my reviews, I'm going to focus on vegan offerings. In addition to the aforementioned salad bar, they offer several vegetarian sandwiches: NYC Veggie, garden veggie and Mushroom Field Roast. I usually get the Field Roast sandwich. It's delicious, hummus, greens, black olives, sun dried tomatoes, red wine vinegar and olive oil on focaccia bread. Highly recommended and a deal at $7.
The staff is always friendly and the orders accurate.
If I had a complaint it's that while their sandwiches, soups and salad are reasonably priced, avoid their specialty drinks and candy at all costs. I suspect they subsidize their offerings thru the sale of these items. I bought a bottle of Fentiman's Curosity Cola and a Kind bar and the bill was just over $7!!! Not the first time I've been shocked at their prices, but as long as you can resist their non-deli items, you'll be happy with...
Read moreIn the late night food desert that is Seattle, it's rare to find a fully functioning deli open until midnight. Swung by the shop after seeing the new James Bond (it's right around the corner from the AMC at Pacific Place.) Plenty of options on the menu but I wasn't in a mood to overanalyze it, so I went with a classic Italian Hero.
Comes on sandwich bread (not a hero hoagie) but can't complain about that. Overall taste was acceptable; nothing wild or above what one could make at home with the right cold cuts. Plus, for $12 after tax, it feels kinda steep for what you get. I would give it 3 stars just for it's overall decent-ness but the fact that it's your literal only option after, what, like 8/9pm, I have to add on another star for sure availability.
I'll be interested to go back and try some of their other sandwiches and to look around at what other snacks/drinks they offer. Not with sky high expectations but with an overwhelming need to just have a good enough bite to eat on cold, rainy Fall nights in the...
