🍹 Le Vecina – Review 🌅 Rooftop Setting & View
Le Vecina’s rooftop patio is easily one of its best features. Sitting up top with the open-air view creates a perfect backdrop for drinks or dinner. It has that mix of energy and relaxation you want in a modern rooftop spot—ideal for catching sunsets or enjoying the city lights in the evening.
🏠 Interior & Atmosphere
Inside, the restaurant carries a warm, authentic Mexican feel. The décor, seating, and layout make you feel like you’re stepping into a thoughtfully designed space that celebrates culture while staying modern. Whether you choose the rooftop or sit indoors, both settings have their own charm.
📍 Location
Well-positioned and easy to get to, Le Vecina is both accessible and stylish. It draws in a mix of locals and visitors, giving it a balanced vibe between neighborhood hangout and polished destination.
🧼 Cleanliness & Facilities
Both the rooftop and interior spaces are clean and well-maintained. Restrooms, seating areas, and common spaces were all kept in excellent shape, which really adds to the comfort of the visit.
🤝 Staff & Service
The staff were friendly, polite, and attentive throughout. From the hostess to the servers, everyone carried themselves professionally but with warmth. Service was efficient without being rushed, and they made the experience personal.
🍸 Drinks
The drinks are a highlight—creative, well-mixed, and refreshing. The bar team clearly knows what they’re doing. Whether you go for a signature cocktail or keep it simple, you’re in good hands here.
🍽️ Food
The food was good overall, though the flavors played on the safe side rather than being bold or adventurous. Well-prepared and presented, but I’d have liked a bit more intensity to match the strength of the drinks and vibe.
🍰 Dessert – Tres Leches Cake
The tres leches cake was okay. Sweet and enjoyable, but not as memorable as it could be. With stronger flavor depth, it could easily match the high standard of the rest of the experience.
✅ Overall: Le Vecina combines a great rooftop view, authentic Mexican interior, clean facilities, amazing drinks, and friendly staff into a memorable experience. While the food and dessert could use bolder flavors, the setting, service, and drinks make this a place worth visiting—especially if you love a stylish rooftop vibe paired with warm...
Read moreWe came here after strolling through uptown and my daughter loved how unique the entrance to the restaurant was. So we decided to have dinner here. The atmosphere was pretty dark, has a Mexican style and feel to it. We were seated right away. We sat out in the patio and ordered our dinner.
Food The food came it fast. It was super hot. Our plates were still hot. For appetizers we had the complimentary chips and salsa. We also ordered the spinach and artichoke dip. The dip was amazing. It had nice chunks of artichoke that made it very hearty. It was hot and soft, and just melted in your mouth. The chips gave it a nice contrast with its crunch.
The fajitas were absolutely unforgettable. A colorful medley of soft, succulent vegetables mixed with tender chicken, shrimp, and steak—all perfectly seasoned and sizzling hot. The juicy wedges of tomato and rich sauce tied everything together beautifully. Each bite just melted in my mouth. It was so delicious, my son had to remind me to slow down—I was fully in the zone! Let’s just say my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach. I genuinely enjoyed every bite.
Both of my kids ordered the Quesabirria and were completely blown away. The consommé was thick, rich, and deeply flavorful—very different from the thinner versions we’re used to, but in the best way. My daughter especially appreciated the consistency, saying the sauce clung to her tacos perfectly. Each plate came with four generously filled, flavor-packed tacos. They were a hit all around.
Drinks I also ordered a spicy margarita and it was delicious. They didn’t hold back on the tequila.
Price Altogether I feel our dinner for 3 was reasonably priced. Artichoke dip $15, Margarita $16, (2) Quesabirria Taco plates $23/each, and (1) Fajita with Shrimp/Steak/Chicken $32. Total $109+tax
I feel this was well priced. Considering where I am from and its...
Read moreI'm going to give my honest review PROS and CONS for La Vecina formally known as Oaxaca. I've been coming to Sedona for decades and Oaxaca was once the nice Mexican restaurant on the main drag that was always packed. You needed to be there early or make reservations at sunset. Nowadays, there are many more choices in Sedona and they should take reviews seriously if they want returning loyal customers. PROS: Every employee / manager we encountered was very friendly and attentive. Easily accessed from main road, food was great for the most part! Enchiladas, Chiles rellenos, rice, beans, Burger, fries guac. All that was very flavorful, well seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The salsa was was the roasted kind, sweet and not spicy. Not my style but didn't ask if there was another type. Service was great. Greeted fairly quickly, sat quickly, server was very friendly and knowledgeable and the food came within a decent time. It was good food and lots of it for your buck. Bathroom was clean and tidy only 1 con.
CONS: The music was so loud it could be heard from the street and inside the restaurant was so loud I couldn't hear the person across from me. The music was awful, the kind you hear in the lowest Mexican bar. I asked for it to be turned down and they did, to a much lower setting and after was a pleasant experience. The children's tacos are spicy! Hopefully, they change the way its made. The bathroom toilet seat was loose and falling off, that's a major hazard for disabled or elderly. All together, we will return. I appreciate all their effort. Everyone deserves a...
