My recent visit to Johnny Rockets was one filled with mixed emotions. The restaurant’s ambiance was as charming as I had heard, with its classic diner vibe inviting a sense of nostalgic comfort. My girlfriend and I were excited to dine here, especially given the excellent reviews and the mouth-watering options on the menu.

However, our experience was marred by the service. Despite the restaurant being somewhat busy, the wait to be acknowledged after being seated felt unusually long. This in itself wouldn’t have been much of an issue, as we understand the pressures of a busy restaurant. However, it became increasingly disheartening to see several tables that were seated after us receiving attention and even beginning to place orders, while we were still waiting for our initial interaction with the staff. This situation not only left us feeling neglected but also distinctly unwelcome, as if our presence was less important. This feeling of unwelcomeness, unfortunately, cast a shadow over the entire dining experience.

However, what truly made my dining experience exceptional was the outstanding service provided by our waiter, Von. From the moment we arrived, Von greeted us with a warm and friendly smile, making us feel instantly welcome. Throughout the entire meal, he was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. I was pleasantly surprised to find it's more of a full-service dining spot rather than a typical fast food joint. One of the standout features is the open kitchen concept—you can watch your food being prepared, which adds a nice touch of transparency.

The food was tasty overall. I ordered a sandwich, and while it was good, there was a significant discrepancy between the online and in-store menus. Online, sandwiches are listed for around $8, but in person, they come with a side and jump to nearly $14—which is quite a steep increase. Drinks aren’t included either, making the price feel inflated.

When ordering, I was given several options—adding cheese, and splitting my sides between fries and onion rings. However, I wasn't informed that these would come at an extra cost. I only found out later when I got the check. That lack of clarity was disappointing.
