There is so much to love about this experience as a whole! So I will do my best to give a full detailed review of the whole process as well as my personal experience being my first time going.
I will start off by saying that this was actually a Valentine's Day gift for my wonderful girlfriend as she loves fun experiences and I thought this would be a memorable one. So this was the final big surprise to end off our Valentine's Adventures.
The online ordering process was very easy and it clearly listed the options that were available at both the base prices with the optional upgrades that are available. I got VIP seating with an upgraded knighting package for the photos for my girlfriend. Once I arrived at the ticketing counter and showed them the email everything else was a breeze. We were handed all that we needed from our tickets for the bar that came with a souvenir cup and a drink of choice. We also had the photography ticket for the knighting package.
Once we stepped foot inside of the entrance everyone was in character saying either my Lord or my lady with fun jokes thrown in throughout the conversations. We arrived at the knighting ceremony and we were greeted by Sir Cedric and the royal guard as well as the Queen. This is an optional upgrade and it comes with the queen actually knighting you ceremoniously with an actual metal sword in a picture friendly way and you get a commemorative photo and a title of your choosing printed on a piece of paper that resembles scroll paper in template. So Cedric was very fun and interactive with all the guests including us and a joy to be the first person that you are greeted by once you get to that station. We also had couples photography and the photographer was very nice and took a great picture.
We had table one in the black and white section so our knight was the Black and White knight and they did a wonderful job with the theming of the costumes and the lighting. Everyone was in character and it was very immersive because you have the fog machines that activate and the lights that come up that are themed along with the section that you are in. While you are seated and enjoying the show you have different servers called wenches for each type of beverage so you have a soft drink and everything else but you also have a bar server that is separate that will fetch drinks from the actual bar. The first server does the soft drinks and food. She was a pleasure to have serving us and very friendly.
The food was surprisingly good and well seasoned from the chicken itself to the tomato soup and the corn was buttered nicely along with the potato wedge that was well seasoned with spice. The chicken was not dry and flavorful and the chocolate hot dog for dessert was light and Airy but definitely still cold. The drinks were also very good slushies. I got two different types of slushie one non-alcoholic and one alcoholic that had mango and rum called the dragon slayer which was great frozen!
The show itself was a very well put together show. You can tell that everyone brings their a game from all areas be at the queen all the way down to the helpers that were cleaning up throughout the show. The main spectacle of course was the knights and each of them had their own Flair and Swagger about them. I also loved the color themed outfits. Our night was the Black and White Night but they were all excellent and really impressive with how they are able to ride and maneuver the horses and have them be more like a companion also aiding in some of the stunts that were required of the actors while doing both the riding regularly and the jousting which was very impressive! There were even points when the swords would Clash and Sparks would show adding to the realism of the experience. You could also see pieces of the joust flying off as it broke in the air upon contact with either metal shield that was circular or curved to allow a direct impact. The only gripe I had was that the sound system could be more strategically placed so that actors can be heard...
Read moreI had a really hard time giving this 4 stars but the sword fighting and over all show saved the rating. Our server was absolutely terrible. We paid for the VIP royalty package with Birthday celebration. We went in... picked up our VIP lanyards and from there went to find our table. I thought someone would have assisted in that process but no help was to be found. We arrived at 6:15pm. We found our table front row right in the middle. The best seats in the house. We sat there without any type of acknowledgement from staff. This was our first time so we really didn't know what to do our what to expect. We sat there for about 20 mins still nothing. We saw all kinds of staff going to the higher levels but completely ignored us in the VIP section. We went to the bar area got our own drinks, and drinks for the kids. Blue and red slushies. We paid for the glass steins and 2 of the glass goblets for the kids. All 4 of our drinks came up to $94.00. Ouch but we were determined to have a good experience. We made our way back to our table and finally we met Gabby. That was suppose to be our server. Well, she finally gave us our first drink. You can choose lemonade, pepsi, or water. After that we did not see her again until when she was suppose to bring out our food. We were the last ones served. And when we asked for a refill she said oh I just ran out of my drinks. So another 10 mins went by and we did get a refill. The only other time we saw her is when she explained how her tips worked. And how she wanted a big one. Each time she came to the table we explained this was our first time, and that we were celebrating a bday. She completely ignored us each and every time. So sad. Considering if she would have done her job we had a crisp $100 bill waiting to give to her. She did not get that. I did not receive a flower for my bday, or a piece of cake, but the table next to me did and they were very surprised. They had no idea why they got it but I knew. I just shook my head. Next part is the food.... First up was the tomato soup, best description came from my 8 year old son. He said it tasted like watered down beef-a-roni sauce left after you eat all the good parts. After he said that we all agreed. It was very bland and nothing to write home about, second came a piece of garlic bread. It would have been wonderful to get that with the soup but nope that didnt happen, next came a half of chicken. Mine was very bland, my son had all the seasonings, and my teenager had a perfect piece, then came a small piece of corn on the cob. It was mushy and cold. Lastly came a baked potato. That was the absolute best. I enjoyed it alot. Way later came what looked like vanilla icecream with Carmel sauce. Nope. Wrong again... it was something else but I wasn't sure. I asked another server what was that? She said it was berry icecream. I don't know but we left it on the table. As for the show... the show was great. The sword fighting was amazing. The horses were great. The over all show was amazing! Like I said it saved the rating. To sum it up... Do not buy the VIP package it was not worth it. The place is small enough you can sit anywhere for a good seat, everything else you can buy outright and probably save money. We are glad we experienced this but we won't be back to this one. We spend over $600 for 4 people, that was spent on the VIP tickets which included a family picture, the 2 adult drinks, 2 kid drinks, 4 cups to bring home, and we pre-ordered the glow sword and flag. Not sure where our special banner was. We never got it. We never got the cake, or flower either. I did get some good pictures. I am truly hoping this was just an off night for the staff. If our server was better it would have made our night amazing. Enjoy...
Read moreI was so excited to take my son to this show. We drove pretty far to experience what we had seen online. The best way to describe the show is that it was underwhelming to say the least. What made the experience pretty disturbing was the poor customer service. My son got to meet the king and queen but they told us that I couldn’t take pictures of him while he was standing where they could be seen, that I could only take pictures of them without him in the frame, which was very odd to me. Beyond that our waiter had the worst attitude Which was so strange. When we sat down initially, there was a couple and they had an empty chair very close to them so we assumed that they had an additional person that would be attending, so we left the seat empty. Well, the waiter came and she asked them if they were saving the seat for someone and they said no . Then she looked at me and said ma’am, you need to move because we need to make sure that we have space for everyone (mind you the place was pretty empty) multiple rows had no one sitting in them. The way she said it was very abrasive and rude. Then she came back and she noticed that the menus and plates were not in front of the correct seats so one seat was missing Their cup their menu and their plate. She came next to me and said “why is this here?” “This shouldn’t be here!” and she looked at me. I was shocked because I have nothing to do with why their seating arrangement was incorrect beyond that it wasn’t even in front of me it was in between me and the couple sitting next to me. She could have just moved the menu And the plate and the cup without saying anything to me. After this occurred, she came and got the drink orders. I asked her what are my options, she sighed and yelled lemonade and Pepsi. Then she said I take it you couldn’t hear me. I am not sure why she said that part since she never stated my options to begin with. My son and I got different drinks. My son and I decided to switch seats and when she came back instead of giving me my drink, she gave me the drink that my son ordered and she gave him the drink that I ordered. Her behavior was so offputting and odd that I was tempted to say something because it was blatantly rude. Beyond that the show was kind of boring. The storyline was lacking. The acting was dry, and the cast was scrawny… I definitely felt like the experience was overpriced to say the least. At the end of the day, my son had fun, but he’s so young that he truly didn’t know the difference. If your child is over the age of 11, I’d find something else to do. Paying 100 dollars for poor customer service and rotisserie chicken is not a...
