Sun and ski does it …
EXCELLENTLY!
This place is why you need brick and mortar stores; not because the the stuff the store sells, but because their service prevails!
I stopped by the Arundel Mills Sun and Ski to get rental ski equipment for my son and a new set of skis and bindings for me. I was not sure what to expect when I entered the store, but was pleasantly surprised by the superb service that I received.
We walked in the door and were immediately greeted by Brandon who was working at the maintenance counter. Within minutes he had my son fitted with a pair of boots, a set of skis and poles. Additionally, he explained how the rental program worked and registered my son in the program.
Then phase two kicked in. Brandon introduced me to Bailey and Bailey walked me through the latest ski gear while quizzing me on my ski needs to the gear I wanted to buy. This was no easy feat as I have been skiing with the same pair of skis for a while (I won’t say how long, but think pointy tips and narrow sticks).
I had a lot to catch up on, for instance, parabolic skis … what? We had discussions on twin-tipped versus single-tipped, ski materials (carbon fiber, titanal, resins), length of the skis (use parabolic skis that are shorter than straight skis), ski bindings and, style of skiing.
Throughout the process, Jake, the manager, kept checking in to answer any questions about accessories, give pricing options and ensured that I got the best deal for my money. We also had a great discussion about the store music playlist; think 80’s and 90’s rock! Awesome.
As I was checking out and getting ready to leave, Jake explained the “Sun & Ski Cash” program and how if i come back during the designated dates on the receipt I could earn a significant amount in savings.
As I departed the store, Jake and Brandon offered to help carry my items out to my car, although I waved them off, it was a very nice gesture.
Sun & Ski puts the “service” in customer service! Thank you, I...
Read moreI was in Modells store yesterday in Arundel Mills Mall. I was purchasing 3 pairs of sneakers. The sign above all the sneakers read 25% off of yellow tag sneakers. I go to the counter with 3 pair of sneakers. Nike, aasics, and Reebok. The cashier rings up and says 144 and some change. I said I'm sorry how is that if they are on sale for 25%. She was checking so I said let me read the sign again. I asked an associate in the back to explain the sign because I wasn't understanding. He said it's just on Nike. I asked how is that when he sign is over ever other pair of brand sneaker in the store and also it doesn't state just Nike on the sign. I go back to the counter to tell the cashier what transpired and she wasn't having it. Told me that us what it's ringing up for even after the sign read differently. She then proceeded to say "I can get the manager if you like" I said yes. Now here is here is where the real problem lies. I can see the two on the side discussing the situation. The manager is not looking friendly or concerned at all. Eyes rolling and just discussed by the situation. She comes to the register where I am, never looked up from the tablet or laptop she was on" what's the problem". Infuriated by her demeanor I go on to explain. While I'm talking she says that's the price. I said excuse me your rude For cutting me off and your not even giving me contact. I please my case again and she interrupts again. I said oh do now you want yo talk over me and at me instead of coming off of the tablet or computer and addressing the customer. I left with no sneakers and a biter taste in my mouth. The manager, I don't know her name because she didn't introduce herself nor did she engage in my complaint. She was a reddish blond haired woman. I would be able to identify her and the cashier again if I had to. ...
Read moreThe store in Arundel Mills in MD sold me a defective pair of winter boots and when I went back to return them I was told I could not get my money returned and could only do an exchange for an item of equal value. I had bought the item only 2 days prior before going to return it. I ended up getting something in exchange but I would rather just get my money back than get items I don't want or need and exchanging for the same item wasn't an option because I didn't want to risk the same thing happening again. I've never encountered such a poor return policy within a week of buying an item. I don't want the items I got for the same value I just want my money back and I'll return the items right away if that can be done. And being told that my only other option was to contact the manufacturer for a return within a week of purchase was also absurd since it was very much within the 30 day window of the return policy.
If I could give this a zero star I would, they ask for your name and number when you make a purchase for returns as they said at the time of the transaction and should be a red flag to anyone else in the future making a purchase there since they likely not return your money should you need to actually return something.
What should have been a simple return has become a headache and angry enough that I actually put a review on a company profile for...
