I just can't even remember a time that Applebee's was ever this bad!! The Host went back and forth with my step-son on the age for a kids menu, ok...he wanted an adult menu who cared if he was 11, next the waiter asks if we wanted appetizers before looking at menu? Umm.... where's the welcome to Applebee's? I'm your server? Have you had a chance to view our menu yet? We had just sat down. Then we gave our drink orders and he brings them out. As the gentleman is placing them on table, his hand is wrapped on top of where our mouth goes..gross! I'm pretty sure he's supposed to handle from bottom of glass, infact I know he is!! Then a second waiter comes. Apparently the first is being trained. He gets our order, I asked for an appetizer at that time, our 2 boys 11 & 13 the 11 year old ended up ordering off kids menu, the 13 just ordered an appetizer as a meal, then my husband and I ordered. Well we got our appetizer, no appetizer plates, I had to ask for them. They came out greasy and dirty. They BBQ wings were luke warm, I told the trainee the plates were dirty, he did not show back up till appetizer was already finished. Never asked how it was. Brought out the boys food which we said was their meal not an appetizer! Normally the waiter will ask if parents want the kids meal out first. We said as meal, that should have been a clue we were ALL EATING TOGETHER. The boys were done eating 10 minutes before we even got our food. Our older son ran out of Mr. Pibb, the trainee took it upon himself to bring him water instead of asking if he'd like a different drink? Bad business. When questioned, the trainer said he told him to do that! Why? The whole dinner experience was awful. I work in a restaurant and this is NOT how you serve your guests! I used to love Applebee's. I will NEVER eat at Sevierville location again!Dear Managers, you need to get your servers ServSafe Certified, nothing worse than having your drink handed to you with the servers hand wrapped around where you drink from! Remember we did just come out of...
Read moreMy family and I are local. We decided to go out to eat together because we never get time to. My husband, myself, and our 3 teenagers.. we picked Applebees. BAD CHOICE! First, we waited at the hostess stand for around 7 mins before we were finally seated or even spoken to. (Keep in mind, they were slow). But ok, fine. We were seated, not a big deal to wait but still irritated. Our server came and got our drink orders in a timely fashion. Destiny, I believe her name was. She took our orders, 10 mins later, appetizers came. No problem with cheese sticks but the boneless wings had dried up sauce on top like they had been sitting in the window under a light for some time. Once again, fine, well deal with it bc we are not ones to complain. Then We asked her to get my middle son another drink bc the sweet tea wasn't good. She took his drink but never returned with one. 15 mins later, Food came, 3 of the 5 meals were bad. 3 burger tops were hard as a rock, and my husbands didn't come like he asked. We waited another 10 mins for her to return to ask for mayo. (Still no drink) and now all other drinks were empty. I said something to her this time, "you forgot to bring his drink, but now we all need refills". She apologized and got the drinks. We picked at our food but by this time, we all just wanted to leave. The food wasn't good, the service wasn't good, and then BAM!! The bill came... $71. We paid and also left her a $10 cash tip bc I was once a server. But basically I paid $81 for a couple drinks, an for all of us to pick at bits and pieces of food. And honestly, we regret even going. We tried to have a nice meal together and it turned out horrible. So bad, even our kids said we shouldn't have even went out. I never complain, I am always the first to give someone or someplace the benefit of the doubt. But this was an overall bad experience for my entire family.... and like I said, we dont go out together much so for this to turn out like it did, was very...
Read moreThis poor store is suffering. I came in on a slow afternoon and sat at the bar. It took three tries to get a glass of water. The bartender seemed flustered like it was shift change and he didn't have the right tools to do his job. One table asked for assistance because their food order was cooked improperly. The bartender removed the food and sought help in the kitchen. A kitchen manager came out to the table cursing that he was sick of this "stuff" I guess forgetting that words spoken are words that can be heard!? I cleaned my section of the bar (someone had spilled a drink before I sat down) and the bartender was busy so no worries, I got this. I ordered an app and a salad and chatted with the two ladies at the bar. Food came and I talked down silverware from a nearby table. I watched a manager, a server and the bartender try to fill drink orders for the restaurant separately. They were missing ingredients so each would stop mid way until another person came and collectively they figured out they just didn't have something so they substituted something else. This resulted in a bunch of half made drinks being thrown out and started over as each person was trying to help but failing despite their effort. As I finished my meal the table with the incorrect food asked if the reorder could come out with boxes as they were late for something. It took 27 minutes for the burgers to arrive (no boxes) and ten minutes later as I left they were still waiting for boxes and their check. This appears to be a problem with management who must make SURE their store is stocked with ingredients, and tools needed. Management is responsible to train and empower employees and management must be involved when the restaurant is struggling to provide even basic service. I'm sure this restaurant can recover in the near future but why risk your time, money or happiness in a place that doesn't...
