Just recently my husband and I were recommended to eat at this steak house. The biggest mistake made. We both ordered the hamburger steak dinner. The hamburger was a frozen cooked patty with mashed potatoes that tasted like a quarter real red potatoes mixed with the rest powdered potatoes. The gravy came from a can or jar. How can you be in Texas and have brown gravy that was watered down with no flavor. The only thing on that plate that was fresh and good was the grilled mushrooms and jalapeños. The establishment needs Bar Rescue to come in and do a makeover. The chairs were worn down to the fabric of vinyl covering, walls dusty and floors needing to be redone. The establishment was dark and gloomy even for dining and bar area. Witnessed only two women taking orders, serving customers and taking care of the bar. More than once I witnessed the bartender leaving the bar unattended for over 3-5 minutes. Maybe they were short handed for the night as noticed for a Tuesday night. Hospitality, training and management could use a boost to take care of the place. It has real potential. I am glad other people enjoyed the place and food. I...
Read moreFirst off, this is NOT a Steakhouse - it is a bar with a restaurant attached & yes they serve steak. Both of our steaks were overcooked & not that great quality, we both ordered "loaded" baked potatoes that they tacked on an extra $2 for - & apparently "loaded" is a container of butter & a plastic packet of sour cream. The side salads were very good. The service started out great and dropped to non-existent as soon as she dropped our plates at the table - never even asked how the steak was, though that may have been a wise move on her part. I didn't realize until after we left as my wife signed the CC receipt, but the bill was $71 (it included a 3% CC fee!) and she left a $10 tip . . . $81 for a couple overcooked steaks, potatoes with packaged condiments, & bad service (for half of the time). It was maybe worth $50 & $5 tip and that's being generous. There's not a ton of options on this stretch of road, but I suggest...
Read moreWe were the only table when we got there about 11:30. Ordered our drinks and then food. 2 other people came in . So each of us had our own waitress. Ordered sweet tea - got unsweet - sent back to only get unsweet again. Our waitress was not good about coming back to check on anything and very slow about brining anything that you asked for. I asked for ranch salad dressing, either waitress brought wrong thing or their ranch dressing taste and looks like miracle whip mayo ONLY except it did have solid chunks of something in it ( not bluecheese either). Menu says HB will come with vegetables and mustard. My husband's HB had mustard, mayo and ketchup on it. ( he does not like mayo ever but waitress never came back) I ordered what I thought was a center cut pork chop but wasn't center cut and wasn't cooked all the...
