Rooms, hallways, hobby, seating area, and breakfast area very up-to-date and clean. Would recommend staff do area checks at closer time intervals. Used public men's restroom on arrive - it was gross. During breakfast hours - guests had to push down trash to trash in trash bin.
Upon arrival desk clerk greeted us but might as well had a recording message when the door opens. Not much spirit in greeting.
When we mentioned we had request first floor - desk clerk was up front with us that the room has had pets - I went and checked out room and no odor. Desk clerk DID NOT mention there was a pet in next door room. When we went to put our things in the room noticed a dog barking. Went back and asked for a room change. Confirmed we had not used bathroom or moved bedding. Made it very clear in tone and facial expression she was NOT happy in our request. Desk clear made a point that she had attempted to discourage us in taking that room. I apologized and stated the error was all my fault and responded that this change was ALL MY FAULT.
Again, we only asked for a room change because we were not aware of a barking dog next door - no issue with room previously having a pet.

Read moreWhen I first got to my assigned room, I opened the door and immediately smelled cigarette smoke so I closed the door without going in, returned to the front desk, handed in my card and got a different room. Just prior to going to the first room, I had taken the memory card out of my camera and slipped it in my pocket. When I got to the second room, I could not find it. I asked the front desk clerk if it happened to have slid into the folding card cover and she informed me she gave me the same one, just erased and added the new number. So, I went back to my car and searched thoroughly for it to no avail. I went back to the clerk and asked if I could take a quick look at the original room to see if it slipped out when I pulled the card out of my pocket, She said she already checked the room and it wasn't there. I stated that it was a small memory card that might be easy to miss and she snapped that she knows what a memory card is and refused to let me check the room saying she can't have me contaminating a clean room. I originally booked through Expedia website on 7/13 and had some problems. So, I called the hotel on 7/16 regarding my reservation. Spoke to Rachael, she said I will be charged. She couldn't help me any further to settle my reservation. I asked to speak to a manager. She told me to call back the next following day. Next day 7/17 I called again. Spoke to Amy because Rachael was not there. I had to politely asked her 3 times for her to reveal her name. She told me I won't be charged since my reservation is way in August. It should be free cancelation. I asked for a cancelation confirmation number and she says she can't provide. I then continue to ask what prove I have if I was charged. She *sighed and say "you just won't be charge" Then, I asked to speak to a manager. She says there is no manager. How do you operate without a manager? She then just hung up on me.
