This visit to Texas Roadhouse was me and my wife's early valentines dinner. Unfortunately it fell short of the standards that past visits at Texas Roadhouse have given us. We were on the waitlist and were told to go to the front to check-in. I check-in with Bailey and he directs me to stand and wait just off to the side here and they'll be ready shortly. 10 minutes go by after I see multiple people walk in and get to their tables, I have to go back up to the check-in counter only to be told there was a mistake and they've accidentally given my table away. A few minutes after we are seated and meet our waiter Jason. Everything was fine until the basket of rolls got empty. He took the empty basket without asking us if we wanted more (which obviously being of sound mind we wanted many more), which put me in a position of having to ask, which my social anxiety got the best of me and kept me quiet, denying me of more delicious rolls. The appetizer of fried pickles were okay, but again, Jason neglected to ask which dipping sauce we would prefer and to my dismay, we were given ranch when I had forgotten to ask for the Cajun dipping sauce. The Long Island I ordered was great, definitely one of the highlights of the night. My steak came and was not the medium I ordered but instead medium-rare, which for a filet is a noticeable difference; the steak was also charred everywhere and had bits of fat in it, a very bad sign for something that should be lean and having a buttery texture. The loaded mashed potatoes were served in a small cup and piled up way to high, so high it made it impossible to stir and eat together, so you had to eat one section at a time, cheese, bacon, sour cream and then finally the potatoes. Bailey came back over and asked how everything was, I pointed out that the steak is medium-rare which he agreed and asked if it needed to go back on the grill, to which I said no since I had cut it in half already. Now this is where things take a turn for the worse. Jason our server asked if I wanted another Long Island when our steak came which I said yes. 15 minutes later and I've finished eating and wondered if he got lost. Turns out he accidentally broke a glass and had to wait to clean it up before doing anything else, preventing me from receiving another drink, which he could have asked someone else to bring it. He came back and I said I no longer wanted the second Long Island which was removed from the final bill. Something else that was also removed from the bill was my second side, a cup of chili with no red onions never came. Had Jason came after we had our first few bites I could have asked about it, but I never got the chance to. Overall it was terrible and we didn't get so much as a sorry. I get it, it's 7:30 dinner rush and everyone is running around like a chicken with their head cut off, but this experience doesn't justify just how many issues we had. I doubt I'll go back to Roadhouse anytime soon. $71 for this was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went with 5 relatives and thus we usually have to wait for a table. We got there by 4:30 on Christmas Eve, hoping that the wait wouldn't be too long. There was no wait for a table, but we were seated in the Bar area in a booth with a wrap around bench seat that meant one of our group had to sit at the end of the table. Not desirable as the person on the end had a hard time hearing the people talk at the table. I looked around, and most of the rear of the restaurant was empty. It stayed that way in the 45 minutes that we were there.
The employee that walked us back to our table did not bring any bread plates for the rolls. Our Server did not notice that we did not have any bread plates. We finally had to ask for some when we had to ask for more rolls.
Some of our table ordered hot tea and Iced tea. We requested some "pink" packets of sweetner for our drinks. Our Server informed us that they were out of them. I tried a substitute in the blue packets and it did not taste very good. My glass of Iced Tea had very few ice cubes in it, and most were melted. This meant it was room temperature. The second glass of Iced Tea came with a lot of Ice in it. The Server never onced asked if anyone needed their drinks refilled.
The 10 oz sirloin steak that I ordered was cooked to my desired doneness but was very stringy. Over 2/3rd of it was hard to eat. This is the second time I have received subpar quality of Steaks at this location. I didn't ask for a replacement as I did not want to watch the rest of my group eat their meal while I waited for another steak.
The Men's room toilet was dirty. I had to use the stall as the urinals were being used. There was brown marks on the bottom of the lid that was left in the up position. Several. Probably some customer suffered from loose bowels. A restroom should be checked frequently, especially on a busy evening like the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat food, terrible service. I got the new york strip, super tender, amazingly flavorful. Great sides, it was hard to choose just 2 and they were all very good. My son got the sirloin, he said it was one of the best steaks he's ever had. I know a lot of places are short handed right now so I'm always super patient when people are working hard... but that was not the case here. There were TONS of servers but they didn't seem to be too bothered to take care of their guests. I asked my server if they had any IPAs, she said just one called juice drop. I've never heard of it so i asked if it was hazy or really fruity to which she replied "i don't know, i don't drink beer" so i was like well if it's the only one i guess I'll do it. Hazy beers give me indigestion so it was a bummer for me that it turned out to be one, it wasn't very hazy so i didn't notice at first. My beer sat at the bar (with the receipt left on top of the foam, ew) for 10 minutes while I could see my server and about 6 more (including the manager on duty š£) just hanging out by the computer. None of them ever left to check on their guests and my beer came way after my starter and way less than cold. Another frustrating thing is like 8 people walked by my beer, the bartender wasn't terribly busy, why don't these employees help each other out? Our table was 3 feet from the bar. Even a manager stood by my beer for minutes without doing anything about it. Then two servers stopped at the end of my table to talk about how much they thought a table was going to tip them and why, saying things i imagine that table wouldn't have liked hearing. Come on guys. Times are hard right now and good employees are hard to find, I get it but with a surplus of employees that this place has should have better standards. I think we'll be back because the food was fantastic but maybe...
