Let me preface my review with this: I have been told by a few other people and seen a few other reviews that did not like the food at Lam Buffet; however, my frequent experiences with this restaurant have been very different. I wonder if they are eating at the same restaurant as me. I would guess that they're mistaking Lam Buffet for the New China Inn right across the square but I have eaten there before and haven't had problems with the food there either. Perhaps there is an evil ghost Chinese restaurant in Chatham Square that I have yet to wander into.
I eat at Lam Buffet often enough to know about their overall quality quite well. I often order take-out and occasionally have the full buffet experience with others in tow. The food is consistently excellent every single time I eat it. I have watched the staff frequently change out or replenish the buffet items with fresh food several times on individual visits. Frankly, having had several other "Americanized" Chinese buffets in the past, Lam Buffet's food is significantly better in overall quality and the variety of food choices available is excellent. The restaurant is actually a family-owned business and the same faces are consistently found working there. They are always pleasant and easy to get along with.
I would definitely recommend coming here if you...
Read moreWe go here pretty often and love everything we get. The beef and broccoli and the wings combos are our favorites. I recently tried the House Wonton Soup and it was so good! Packed full of veggies and protein and the wontons are huge! The broth was incredibly and I definitely want to order this again. We also recently tried the Asian Spicy Wings. They weren't too spicy, they're a little sweet and really really good! The Cherry Blossom Sushi is another favorite of ours. They put the sauce right on top and the shrimp tempura in it is always nice and crispy! The bourbon chicken is good too... there's too many to list, I've loved everything I've...
Read moreIf you're looking for classic Chinese food to chow down on, this is the place! The dinner servings are huge but the egg rolls are even bigger! Recommend the lo mein side in the dinner combos over the fried rice, rice is okay but not as good as the lo mein. Egg rolls were really good. The mains, General Tso and Chicken Broccoli, were also really good. Hug portions, easily enough for 2 or even 3 meals per serving! We also ordered soup, both fantastic and we're taking leftovers as well. We ate in and the service was really fast, everything came out hot and we saw a lot of to-go/delivery orders. They even have a...
