The "New Beginnings" prefix menu at this gem of an eatery was the culinary coup de grâce of my time in South Dakota. It began with a Red Thumb Potato Vichy that teased the palate with luxurious asian caviar, & progressed to an exquisite White Asparagus dish that was a celebration of texture and taste; my favorite. The Wild Alaskan Halibut followed, a delicate masterpiece complemented by the subtle spice of wild fennel. Lamb came next, with a sausage stuffed morel. To complete this gastronomic treat, the Creamsicle Cheesecake arrived as the sweetest of finales, a dessert so divine I must admit I love this place! Each course could be harmoniously paired with a fine wine selection. But I went for the eclectically balanced sour ale, which made my last evening one to remember, leaving me impressed, joyous, and delightfully sated.
The service, as soon as I opened the door, exuded a helpful elegance and professionalism at a level never before experienced in this state!
My mother said (in an inadvertently sent text with photo sent to me instead of her siblings), “Mom had a five-course meal tonight. Note the pillow behind her back! They were really helpful with getting her in, and the chef said goodbye to us at the door! Dean and I had a few crumbs, and they came with a crumb scraper. Very high-end! Caviar from Russia, asparagus from Holland, and halibut from Alaska! We had the right-side menu—delicious! 😋”
From presentation to ambiance & from background stories to flavor profiles, to expertly executed celiac-safe gluten free variances…. This is a stand out establishment is downtown Sioux Falls. All my recommendations...
Read moreThis is a first class big city experience in Sioux Falls. You will not find service like this anywhere else in Sioux Falls. You will not find tastes like this anywhere else in Sioux Falls. Everything is made fresh and on the day you go in. Even the pastas are made there fresh on the day of. We had 4 people in our party. Two did the tasting menu. Myself and another, ordered off the dinner menu. Tasting menu changes every week. Dinner menu changes every month. You can spend $50/person or $200/person. On the day we went, we shared a few appetizers. In addition, I ordered the Monk fish, cauliflower tortellini and a couple of different potatoe sides dishes which came with the main course entrées. Also ordered the chicken. And two 6 or 7 course tasting menus. I consider my self well traveled. Educated and well versed on worldy things. There were a lot of French words I didn't understand. But i dont need to undersatnd french to know that.... i will not experience anything like this any where else in Sioux Falls. I truly lack the words and vocabulary to do this place justice. You have to see for your self. Your momma can never cook like this. And unless you pay good money to learn, you will never make food like this. I took pictures which I will post. But keep in mind, what you see here, will not be on the menu next week...

Upon arrival we were greeted with a small chalice of Prosecco because it was Sunday and why not share some bubbles?!
We tried the five course tasting menu…we enjoyed all of the course, especially the duck and salmon. Each course is small but they add up! The sauces accompanying each dish were phenomenal! The presentation was top notch and the staff went above and beyond to chat with us and make us feel not just welcome but AT Home!
I would say that the wine pairing was a bit pricey at $85 for 5, 3 ounce glasses. You could easily buy two or three 5 oz wines by the glass instead, so that was lil pricey in retrospect. At the time, each wine and pairing was spot on and truly added to the dish.
The dessert was a miss for me… fresh strawberries with balsamic with cake and some sheet of vanilla crème? It didn’t work, I’m a texture eater, plus it tasted kind of fishy… I didn’t dig it. The little cookies which accompanied dessert were wonderful and the caramel upon departure at the door were delightful!
To their credit, we met the chef, Bryan as we exited and he offered to make me a new/ different dessert. At the time I thought, no that too much… but maybe I should have?!
Definitely 5 star in...
