As a child, I loved this place dearly. As an adult with children, I’m disgusted. This used to be a great place. You would think that they wouldn’t be selling stuff that still contains known cancer makers. You can make candy without giving it the ability to kill us. It was also disheartening to look at every package and see it came from Canada and not even from the US.
Since door County confectionery wants to reply and ask me which location even though I left my review for the sister bay location I’m going to reply on my review. They state that they’re confused because not have their products come from Canada below you will see a picture where their items are marked door County confectionery, but they’re gummy’s, from Canada and Brazil and all have read number 40 a major cancer-causing ingredient in them. The only item of the pictured gummy’s with the red twists is made a product of the USA partially produced with genetic engineering, which means it is made with GMO crops . I get that it’s candy. It doesn’t have to be a death sentence. Also, it looks really bad on you stating that you don’t get any products from Canada. Clearly I just proved you do and from other countries. Just stating the facts. It’s too bad you couldn’t just do better with all the money that you guys have made off of Wisconsin and make your items safer for human...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped here while on our visit in Door County. While checking out, the rude clerk asked me to step back....mind you I was behind my husband, behind plexiglass more than 6 feet away from the clerk and everyone had masks on. My husband then asked the clerk why I was asked to move back and he said it was because my mask wasn't over my nose. I have a medical condition per the mandate I don't have to wear a mask but do out of respect. That being said I leave my nose out so I can breath. Funny how I walked all the way through the store and not a word was said, until the clerk ran my husband's card. Which by the way was handled at several other establishments beforehand. Part of overpaying for nostalgic candy is the service provided. Next time I will just go to Wal-Mart and pay less money for the candy and not get yelled at for not having my mask...
Read moreWas exited to come to this local business and give my support and try some of their candy. Unfortunately, when it came time to check out with my party, I asked for one of the pretzels behind the counters and was immediately cut off by the older woman at the register and was told that no, I can not have a pretzel because she is obviously taking care of other customers. The customers she was referring to was my party I was with and I was trying to receive service along with them. Through this process she was also very rude, we didn’t end up receiving what we wanted because she was making us feel unwelcome and made snide comments to the people I was with and ultimately made us want to leave and made us very uncomfortable. I have felt welcome by all businesses along this strip besides this business. Very disappointed, will not...
