Subby's — Restaurant in South Miami

Would add 6 stars if I could. I am someone who stops by Philly every time I used to drive through on the road between DC and NYC. If you've ever had a real cheesesteak on an Amoroso roll, you know this place is the closest thing to it. (idk if they actually use an amoroso roll, but if they dont its just as good). I've had a hard time finding a REAL NORTHEAS style sub-shop in Miami, and this is the Real Deal. I think I have been ordering at least once a week as my "treat" because of how good this is.

I've seen some very negative comments complain it's pricey and not Casola's and Flanigan's. In a way, the comment is absolutely right, this isn't Casola's or Flanigan's, and therefore you won't end up with a disappointing sandwich with non shaved steak on bad bread the way you do at those places. If you want to say holy ** how can a sandwich be so good, go to Subby's. The fact that I have written a comment this long about my love for a sandwich should be a sign to go here.

Subby's is one of many food spots that has been at the forefront of Downtown South Miami's Renaissance. More importantly, as someone that's part of a fellow South Miami family food business, it is great to see our community and downtown flourishing due to GENUINE family businesses owned by people in our neighborhood. We’re huge supporters of small business and finally there’s a heavy weight contender of subs in the South Miami area. We were greeted by a few locals and they were raving about the subs and the taste. Speak no more; Challenge Accepted!!!! It was a pleasure to have had the opportunity to speak with the owner (EJ) as well as the gentleman who designed the “Subby’s” mascot. The place is very clean, the staff were all smiles and welcoming and the food well there’s nothing much more than can be said than OUTSTANDING!!! I had the Large BBQ Steak & Cheese and it was on point. The sub was huge, had a great and was prepared perfectly. My wife had the mushroom steak and cheese and it was also perfect. Wow, Subby's. Just wow.

I have never had a sub this well made in my entire life. The bread was immaculate. Soft, but not spongy. I highly recommend the Tuna Sub. They put just the right amount of toppings on the sandwich. After eating, I felt perfectly filled; the portion sizes are just right.

What truly sets this place apart is the service. Our waiter was very friendly and the food was delivered swiftly. Even during busy hours, the chefs do their magic in the kitchen to have the sandwich delivered to your table promptly.
