Jo N Tea — Restaurant in South Plainfield

Came here three times with friends this past week.

Boba: The brewed teas are legit- I ordered the King of Oolong, Rose Oolong and Jasmine. I can taste the tea leaves! Friend's Peach and Mango drinks were refreshing with a good balance of flavor and sweetness.

Food: More often than not, the food in boba stores are subpar; an afterthought. Not here! All of us got Fries and Popcorn chicken, which are prepared when you order it. Even when it takes a while, they are still speedy and it's a peace of mind knowing the food is freshly made. While the chicken doesnt hit in terms of "being authentic Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken", it is still addicting and delicious. They do not skimp by including bones, skin or fat(something I experience restaurants do...), each bite is juicy meat! Friends who got corn dogs and takoyaki balls were satisfied.

Service: The staff cares about you and it shows. When my friend ordered a (1) boba tea, someone came out to her to make sure she knew of their free drink promotion. When I ordered my boba with 30% sugar, they wanted to confirm exactly how sweet I wanted my drink. It makes us want to come back when they pay attention to detail.

Walked in and placed an order for 2 Strawberry Yogurt. I was order #4. I sat down and waited. I was waiting patiently and saw that the girl was not making any drinks she was just walking back and forth very flabbergasted and on the register. I asked her if she received my order she said yes. I asked nicely if she can start to make it cause I have been waiting almost 15 mins. She then started to make the 2 drinks. Another customer was waiting for their food and it was just left on the counter. 2 other walk ins and they did not receive any customer service help they had to look at the pictures on the wall and use the kiosk. Decided to give this spot a try as there aren’t many tea spots around the area! We ordered a Pineapple and Passion Fruit Green Tea w Nata Jelly, Matcha Slush and popcorn chicken. Drinks were a bit underwhelming because it was strong in syrup flavor and I couldn’t taste much tea. The popcorn chicken was decent - I appreciated the generous portion. It was a bit noisy when we sat inside as well.. not sure if it was just during the time we went. Nonetheless, the workers were nice when we walked in and left, which balanced out the shortcomings.
