I’ve been in Salt Lake City for over a year and have tried almost every Vietnamese place nearby. Vietnamese cuisine is one of my favorites, and I normally eat out 3–4 times a week. For a long time, I kept coming away disappointed, never finding the flavors I craved. A friend finally steered me to Pho 33, and it was a revelation—now I can finally savor a broth that reminds me of home outside of San Francisco.
What I love about Pho 33: The broth: Rich, deeply flavorful, and consistently comforting. It’s the highlight that makes this place special and worth the trip. Fried spring rolls: A must-order starter—crispy on the outside, satisfying inside, and a perfect balance to the meal. Tailored favorites: Tailored dishes like the oxtail and beef noodle soup (pho) are hearty, aromatic, and very satisfying. Consistency: After a string of misses elsewhere, Pho 33 delivers reliably delicious bowls and plates. Family vibe: I’ve already been back twice in three days and have brought friends and family. Everyone leaves impressed and eager to return.
Ambience and service: Warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home. Attentive staff who are helpful with recommendations and accommodating to guests.
Why I keep coming back: It’s become my go-to for authentic, comforting Vietnamese flavors in Salt Lake City. I’ve started recommending Pho 33 to many friends, and they’ve all become converts too.
If you’re a fellow Vietnamese cuisine lover or simply want a fantastic, satisfying bowl of pho with great sides, Pho 33 is worth a visit. It’s the kind of place that restores your faith in finding the taste you’ve been missing, far from the old favorites you’ve already tried.
Notes for future readers: If you’re unsure what to order, start with the pho (beef or oxtail) and the fried spring rolls. You can’t go wrong. Bring friends or family to share and explore a broader...

What happened: Walked in door, a guy with dishes cart waved me in and I walked toward one of the table he showed me. Before I even sit, another guy came and started ask why I just walked in, that I have to wait "server" to bought me in. I told him "oh, ok" and didn't want to argue anything since I am hungry already. He walked away and came back with menu said "it's restaurant rules" then left without even asking if I can order or I need time. I stepped out after minutes of thinking and decided to post the review.
First, how your customers going to know the "rules" when there's no clear signs at front door or a person to stop people? Second, your worker did waved me in and brought me the chopsticks and fork, why your waiter could just came and start questioning people like this? Third, its the most terrible experience I ever had in this restaurant, you really need to train your employees better on their attitude, at least be nicer not just questioning the people who simply come in for foods.
I been eating the Pho noodles since the ShangHai restaurant 7 years ago, and I start to come this new restaurant since day 1 it opened and always think it's just the best Pho around here. I am not saying how loyalty I am or I support the restaurant a lot, but I did brought many of my family members and friends to here and had great times.
However, after this experience, sorry you just lost your years customers and received a 1 star review. Hope this will change and the best of...
Read moreI would put this joint at the top of my list for favorite Vietnamese food in town. The broth is on point. The meat portions are generous. The value is good for what you get. Friendly staff and fast service. They accommodate my request for extra Jalapeños every single time. The environment is open and comfortable. They have my take out ready usually in under 20 minutes. I have yet to run into any complaints. My favorite pho is the brisket with meatballs. Vermicelli noodles and rice dishes are also delicious. The menu is very accommodating to vegetarians and vegans. Everything is flipping good here. But there is one little gem on the menu I want to highlight that often goes unnoticed. I never even noticed it in the menu but the waiter confirmed they do offer sandwiches when i asked. The baguette sandwich, aka banh mi. I ordered the pork baguette and god dam it slapped so hard. The waiter said that's their best one, out of the beef and chicken and I'm so glad that's what i ordered. The outside was hot and crispy. The pork was soo flavorful and juicy. The ingredients were all fresh, making this one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I got this yesterday and can't wait to have it again. Not sure when it got added to the menu but can't believe i am just now aware of it. The menu does warn you, it takes 10 minutes to prepare this baby, a little longer than the pho but it's well worth it. I ordered a kids sized pho with meatballs as a starter. Perfect meal. Best of...
