WARNING FOR THOSE WHO FOUND THIS PLACE ON INSTAGRAM: When do you come here, there is a reason that there is nobody in the parking lot. Long story short, they will keep their fish until it's almost going bad and then serve it. I got crab and lobster that just were on the brink of going bad that they served us.
The service was lovely, though the server was hard to understand at times, despite my working with people with heavy accents every day, she still tried very hard to make sure that we understood and she understood. However, despite the fact that some of their specialty appetizers were good, the general boils that we got left a lot to be desired. I got a lobster boil and a crab boil for myself and my girlfriend and the crab was certainly old. I've done boils before, and when my crab shells are so old that they start falling apart in my hands and are about as bendy as the flesh inside, then that is a concern for me. Not to mention that when I finally got to the crab meat, I couldn't help but notice that it wasn't the normal sweetness that I'm used to with crab meat, but it was the kind of sweetness that you get with crab meat right before it goes bad. This morning I can't help but wonder if the reason that I'm having indigestion is because I ate bad crab last night. The corn on the cob in my boil also was extremely old. The corn was very clearly from maybe 2 weeks ago. As far as produce goes I was really disappointed with the quality of corn that we were given. The potatoes that we got in our boil, were lovely, but potatoes are easy. I also ordered steamed broccoli and never saw that. As far as Seafood goes, I think the reason that this place gets so much vehement support from the locals is simply because it's a seafood place and we don't have a lot of that here in the desert, but for someone who's had Quality Seafood even here in the desert, I can't recommend this place. I think that either people are living on memories of what this place once was or hoping that it will improve someday. Speaking of improving, even the lobster that I got for my girlfriend last night was super tough and stringy, that tells me again that the lobster they had was old and about to go bad. I wish that they had gotten the guy that did some weird over acted review for them on Instagram to be a bit more honest. That was how we found out about this place, and we were so excited to go, but I can't see...
Read moreBeen here 3 times so far. The first and second with my boyfriend, the 3rd by myself. The first time, it was amazing we were the only ones there and had their combo #2 (1 LB of shrimp, crawfish, black mussels + corns, sausages and potatoes, comes with the combo) . It was so good. We got bucket style, so great but ir was a lil sweet. We finished everything, and we’re both small people. The staff was so nice, the guy was enthusiastic and nice and the lady was shy but amazing. She could tell we were grubbing and checked on us when she saw we were almost done and refilled the water. Second time, I wish I took a pic but it was Valentine’s Day and the same lady came out with a cupcake! While we were waiting on our combo #1. That was a sweet gesture and really unexpected and nice. The seafood was also great even though it was only a 1/2 pound (for combo #1) it still filled us up. We got all the sauces except the garlic chili considering how sweet it was the first time. It tasted even better this time. I think the first time we went we were under the influence of alcohol lol so we were able to eat everything of combo #2 but if you’re sober the combo #1 will fill you up, depending on your size. The 3rd time, I went by myself, got the sushi lunch special, 2 rolls for $8, i ordered online and went there 15 min after I placed my order, wasn’t made once I got there. No problem! Still came within 9 min, left, and they forgot soup. So I had to go back, the lady was nice about it, took another 8 min to get the soup when I got back even though I called 15 min beforehand. There was no one in the shop. It’s all okay though bc they were nice and it seemed like there was only 2 workers there. Overall this place is great I just regret tipping every time, no one is perfect but I was in a hurry to get things done and didn’t want to have to come back. Try this place out...
Read moreI love crawfish. Working in Salt Lake City on a temporary assignment, I decided to try Seafood Bucket the first week of July, based on the majority good reviews. However, my rental car would not start at the hotel and I was stuck. So, I had no choice but to use a food delivery service, something I had not done before. GrubHub advertised free delivery for first time orders online but I did not get that. Ordered was 1 lb crawfish, vegetable lo mein, and a Utah sushi roll. I was kind of ok that the price was marked up almost another $10; but Grubhub did charge an $11 delivery fee while giving just a $4 discount. By the time the delivery fees, tip, and taxes were added, a meal that would have cost less than $34 if I’d personally picked it up, cost me about over $62. I gave the deliverer another $4 tip, since she was super nice via text.
Was the food worth the cost? The answer is a firm 'NO'. The Utah roll was good. However, the lo mein was much too salty to enjoy. And the crawfish taste was disappointing. Furthermore, there was no corn, sausage, or potato, as shown in an online photo of crawfish. I’ve never ever paid for crawfish without these. I was charged $20 for the crawfish when the 1-lb bol was advertised at $15. I guess the big clue was that my selection did not say crawfish ‘boil’. The most disturbing part of this was that a significant amount of the 1 lb were the inedible little legs and claws that didn’t belong to the crawfish that I ate. To show how much of the extra appendages they threw in, I put a small circle in the center of the styrofoam container in the photo. How did this restaurant get all the positive reviews? I'd give this place a '0' if that were possible. Never...
