I do not normally leave poor reviews but I was very very disappointed. Do not go here for a special occasion or for a nice date or anything like that. I would not recommend going here at all. Nothing about the experience here was good. I took my fiance here for his birthday. He wanted mexican food so I suggested El Paso, (our favorite spot) but he said he wanted to try this place. I had been once before and was not impressed with the food but it was his birthday so I happily agreed.
Right from the start, the service was awful. I felt like an inconvenience to our waiter the entire time. He was so rude and made faces when we asked for substitutions (if you can even call them that..steak instead of chicken for one meal, and add cilantro and lime to the other) very basic. I'm not going to go on and on about the server, I don't expect any sort of special treatment or a happy demeanor even - just like...basic decency.
My food did not match what was on the menu and tasted very bland. Bevause of our servers attitude I felt anxious to even ask for hot sauce. I assumed my fiance was enjoying his food but when we left he told me it was some of the toughest meat he's ever had and did not taste good.
I ordered margaritas for us because I saw a big margarita on someone's table when we walked in and it seemed fun for a birthday. I did not see a price for them on the menu but I didn't care because I wanted us to have a good time. Our server didn't ask us a size preference so I assumed they were all the same size, but ours were very small and I truly do not believe there was any alcohol in them. They tasted only like sweet salt even though there wasn't any sugar or salt on the rim. I don't even know how that's possible 🤷🏼♀️ but maybe there wasn't any alcohol because they didn't card us and assumed we were too young for it?
Who knows.. what I do know, is that when I went to use the bathroom while I was there I discovered feces in one toilet, pee and paper on another, and the clean one that I used..did not flush. It did some sort of mini flush but I had to press the handle down 6 times to get pee and toilet paper down so that there would be at least one clean toilet for the next unfortunate customer who needed to use the facilities.
I mean.... come on. The whole experience was regrettable and you will never catch me in this...
Read moreYesssss. . . ! Found this restaurant on google maps as a good halfway point restaurant on our trip back from visiting family. There were a few Mexican restaurants around, but the pictures, prices and reviews had me sold. We were not let down. The first good sign was the amount of cars in the parking lot at 4pm on a Thursday. Walked in to find a super cute restaurant which did not slack in decor to create a nice Mexican themed ambiance. We were greeted by a nicely dressed gentleman who seated us with a smile. Our waiter quickly came over to greet us and take our order. There were three of us, we ordered beef nachos as an app to split, single combo fajitas for my mom and dad to split, and a taco salad for me. Food came out quickly and accurate, huge portions, and delicious! We even came out with leftovers, which never happens with my family. 🤣 Very happy with this place. I love a good deal, without having to saceifice quality. This was a win-win-win. Will definitely be coming back on our next family visit. Already recommended it to my sister for when it's her turn to come visit us. Wish I had taken pictures of the food, but was distracted by the pretty pretty meals. I did good in my research, and my box of leftovers was my prize!! 😄 Thank you Old Mexico! Please...
Read moreDuring a work trip, my coworker and I stopped by this restaurant for a quick dinner since it was near our hotel. The place has plenty of parking, and the ambiance is classy with a traditional Mexican vibe. There’s ample seating, which is great for groups, though it was pretty empty—likely due to off-peak hours.
We started with complimentary chips and salsa, which were fresh and tasty—a nice touch. For the main course, we ordered a combination plate with cheese enchiladas and tamales, as well as the ribeye steak.
The enchiladas and tamales were solid but not exceptional—I’ve had better tamales elsewhere. Each plate came with beans and Spanish rice, which were just okay. The ribeye steak, however, was flavorful and cooked well, making it the highlight of the meal.
If you’re nearby and craving Mexican food, this place is worth checking out. Not mind-blowing, but the friendly staff, good ambiance, and decent food make it a...
