I have debated if I should write this review because I hate negative ones but at this point I feel it’s necessary. Tuesday I went to this restaurant with a few friends for the first time. I ordered the combo chicken and steak bowl and Miso soup. The bowl was okay and the miso strangely had no tofo or green onion but instead had chunks of chicken. Strange I thought but okay. Within 3 hours my tummy was feeling a little upset and I thought “maybe I just ate too much”. I took a couple Rolaids and went to bed. I awoke in the night to constant vomiting and diarrhea. All night long. The entire day I was in bed and couldn’t move— my stomach was killing me. This continued for the entire next day and on the third day I was still weak. Was it the flu? I have 7 children in public school and a nursing baby and no one else has been sick—not even a sniffle, loose bowel, nothing. So you can determine if I got food poisoning from this place or not. I’d say YES. I write this review not out of being mean but after reading recent reviews it’s clear there is a problem that needs to be addressed and it’s putting peoples health on the line. It seems it’s time for a review for your staff on proper hand washing, proper food washing, food storage temps need to be checked, knowing when the food is done by checking the temps—one of my friends said she questioned the “doneness” of a few pieces of food in her bowl. Please ensure your staff knows that if they even question food to throw it out. I’ve spent 3 days in bed and will most likely never eat at a Teriyaki Grill again. The reason for this review is because I paid via debit card, but was charged what appears to be a card processing fee (the receipt simply states a cash total and a non-cash total). This was also not disclosed in any way before the purchase. All of this is illegal (had to remove the link to the website because my review wasn’t being shown publicly but the info is easy enough to find if you look it up). Fees must be clearly disclosed before purchase, notification after the fact on a receipt does not count, fees must accurately indicate what they are for, and fees cannot be charged when using a debit card.
I called the number on the receipt and it went to the voicemail for some random guy named Mike. I googled the restaurant to get the number and spoke to someone named Julio, who told me he was the manager and that I would need to come into the restaurant and bring the receipt to get a refund. What about all the other people who have made purchases here? I seriously doubt everyone else this happened to will also be getting a refund, so am leaving this review so other potential patrons can be aware. It’s not a huge amount for the transaction, but I don’t appreciate being overcharged and it probably adds up to a significant amount when considering everyone else this happens to....
Read moreI ordered the avocado tofu salad for takeout. When I got home and opened it, there was zero avocado in it...which was the whole reason I ordered this salad. Maybe next time they will get a salad correct.
UPDATE: I convinced my work to order from Teriyaki Grill for lunch yesterday. A couple of us ordered salads. GUESS WHAT??!! I ordered the same damn salad again and YUP.... They FORGOT the avocado!!!! Come on!!! The tofu was sporadic, half the amount as the pic above, and NO AVOCADO (the main reason I ordered it).
We didn't think to check our meals since we took take out and they were all in a large bag, but I have a feeling IF I go again, I'm never be ordering the salad.... Any salad. The other complaint about the salad from me and the other person, was that there was about an inch of water and the bottom of our salad bowls. It was pretty gross. They don't really give enough salad dressing to begin with so when it ends up swimming in a mini ocean IN A SALAD, it almost becomes inedible... for both my coworker and I. My coworker had a totally different salad and hers was also drowning. UGH. My work, unfortunately, will not be ordering...
