I would give this restaurant zero stars if I could. This was one of the worst dining experiences of my life. First, my friend and I stood inside and waited for over 10 minutes just to be seated. I could understand if it was a super busy/crowded time, but there was no line and there were numerous open tables, inside and outside. After many confused glances from my friend and I, the hostess, who is obviously new, finally says something to the effect of, "Oh, I still haven't sat you all? Sorry, I'm just irritated because my coworkers are trying to get me in trouble for things I didn't do." She then takes us outside and seats us. Another waitress stops by our table, gives us chips and salsa, and then proceeds to ignore our table for 15 minutes while serving the other tables around us. We stopped her and asked her if she was our waitress, and she said no and walked away. At this point, we only have chips, salsa, and menus. No water or communication at all. There was a second waitress outside who walked past our table numerous times, so we then asked her if she was our waitress. She said no, but since no one was waiting on us, she would be our waitress. She took our appetizer order and gave us a drink menu and waters. After that, this waitress purposefully avoided serving us. She took routes to other tables that prevented her from directly walking in front of or beside our table. Moreover, we made eye contact with this waitress numerous times and she looked away every single time. After another 10 minutes, a different waiter came and gave us our queso with chorizo, which was actually good. We asked him if he was our waiter, and he said no, but he would be happy to serve us. He was very kind and caring, and he took our entrée and drink orders. After this very annoying debacle, I was hoping the rest of our food would be amazing. It was not. My black beans were overcooked, flavorless, and tasted like gravel. My rice was hard and tasted like the plastic tips of shoelaces. The enchiladas were fine, but nothing to brag about. My friend's meal was subpar as well. After paying, I thought this nightmare would be over, but it actually continued the next day, as I had a moderate case of food poisoning. I can't 100% say that Mezcal was to blame, but given the quality of my food, I can only assume. All in all, this was a terrible dining experience, and I would avoid this restaurant...
Read moreI was there for for my friend birthday party. It was a party of 10. We had reservations at 700pm. The host was able to sit us after 730. We ordered at 744pm. The waiter kept bringing us drink orders AFTER we ordered our food. We kept buying drinks to make the time go by until our food came. Over 2 hours later, our food order was not ready. The waiter and the manager was very very rude. The manager stated the best he can do is give us 15 percent discount. When the food came out, the orders was incorrect. My friend is allergic to dairy and she said to the waiter no dairy several times. When her order cam out she started eating and inside her food is a lot of cheese. Yes DAIRY. THE MANAGER DIDNT TRY TO DEFUSE THE SITUATION AT ALL. THIS WAS A VERY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT THIS RESTAURANT. I LEFT AND WENT TO THE PEDDLER NEXT DOOR. I ORDER MY FOOD AND RECEIVED IT WITHIN 15 MINS FROM THE PEDDLER. THE FOOD THERE WAS OUTSTANDING ST THE PEDDLER AND AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE. THR MANAGER WELCOMED US AND APOLOGIZED FOR OUR HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT MEZCAL. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND YES MY FRIEND GETTING AN ATTORNEY FOR HER ALLERGIC REACTION...
Read moreMaybe it was just a bad night, but very little went well: I sat at the bar and it took quite a while to get any attention from the wait staff; there was no actual bartender. When a waiter finally took my order, I had to tell him three times. Not all at once; he would leave and come back and ask again. Then, he made a drink that was not what I ordered. When I told him, it was not the right drink, I had to show him the recipe, on the menu. When the food came, it was good; no complaints there. That said, some guy sitting next to me had chips and salsa, but I never got any. I asked them if they had ordered them, and they said, “No, someone just brought them.” At 7:15 PM, a DJ started playing very loud dance club music. I didn’t mind the music, itself. It was just very loud and you couldn’t talk to anybody unless they were sitting directly next to you. It’s fine if you want to do that after the kitchen is closed, but everyone was still eating their dinner.
I’m not saying all this to be rude. I just hope the management will see it and consider some changes/improvements. I believe my waiter is a hard worker. He just...
