TLDR-the manager is rude and argumentative. She lacks the ability listen to a customers concerns without interrupting them while they are speaking. She is not able to say "sorry" or apologize to an unhappy customer.
We were looking forward to an enjoyable meal at Miyako however we were severely disappointed. We arrived about 5:50pm and placed our order shortly after 6pm, two hibachi entrees, a sushi entree and a panko chicken entree. The sushi arrived at the table around 6:30 and the server explained that the kitchen was a bit backed up but sushi is quicker. About 10 minutes later the panko arrived at the table. Our server let us know that they hibachi would be out shortly, they were plating it up. About 10 minutes later, the table next to ours who had arrived 25 minutes after our arrival and ordered after us received their entrees, including hibachi entrees. Finally at 7:15, an hour after we ordered the two hibachi entrees were brought to the table. The server apologized for the delay however I asked to speak to the manager. The manager came to the table about 5 minutes later and we explained what our concerns were. She immediately started being dismissive and made excuses for the delay. She informed us the hibachi cook top is small so it takes longer to make hibachi entrees. When I pointed out the adjacent table received their entrees before us, she began to become rude and argumentative and claimed that wasn't so. She said she would have to look into that. I also pointed out that I had ordered fried rice and they served me white rice. She left the table and came back in a few minutes with a bowl of rice and stated we didn't order until 6:45. I told her I had proof of when we ordered as I had made a phone call after we ordered our entrees and the call was at 6:15. I pointed out that if we didn't order until 6:45 then why were the other entrees brought to the table before then. She then again used the excuse that the hibachi was small so they take longer. She said she brought me a bowl of rice since I didn't get the fried rice and I should be happy that she is replacing the rice. The bowl of rice she brough was not fried rice it was brown rice so I told her I didn't want it. She never offered an apology or stated she was sorry for our experience. She told us she couldn't keep speaking with us as she had other customers she had to take care of. She did ask what she could do for us and we told her nothing, we would not return to the restaurant again. She continued to ask us and we told her an apology would be appreciated but we wanted nothing else. She left the table and a few minutes later returned and said very rudely she took the entrees off our bill, and said rudely-"sorry" and walked away. A few minutes later our server returned to the table. She looked like she had been crying. We told her we were not mad or upset with her, that we knew she was doing her best and that her manager did not handle our concerns properly but we don't hold that against her. We tipped her on what the full bill would have been had the two entrees not been removed as we felt she should not be penalized for the slow kitchen or that she worked for a...
Read moreWe came in at 8:55 pm time on door said open til ten on. Well their open til ten but the kitchen closes at 9:20 pm. So we were hurried to order did not like that . They brought out a glass container with ice and water so the waitress wouldn't have to keep filling your water great idea except out glass container had what I can only describe as two glops of boogers in it just staying at the bottom of the container . We didn't notice at first due to all the ice in it but as the ice melted they became very prominent . I brought it to the managers attention and all he said was must be paper . Now I'm not a rocket scientist but I've seen wet paper. And that wasn't wet paper . Besides if the container had been cleaned the paper would have been washed out . So do they not clean these containers between use. And now with all the viruses that are circling around that scares the hell out of me . Now the sushi rolls we're good , fresh rice and taste was very good . But I ordered the chicken fried rice no vegitables and the rice was dry and over cooked hard and crunchy. They got my wife's order wrong . She ordered the shrimp rice noodles dish . But got chicken instead. They took the meal back to the kitchen and I swear all they did was pick out the chicken and added some shrimp to it and rewarmed it the shrimp was cooked but not completely. And she still had four pieces of chicken in the meal . So if she had been allergic to chicken .they could have killed her . But luckily she just doesn't like chicken . And the manager just sat at a table two over from us and did nothing about the meal or the water . The waitress tried to apologise for the mistakes . But this was an issue for the manager and he was either unwilling or incapable of that. He just sat there and ignored the problem and us hoping that we would just leave . And we did leave for the first and last time . I will never go back to this place for food ,water , or for management experience. The only small bright spot in this dinner from HELL was the waitress trying here best to make a catastrophe a...
Read moreThe sushi was fantastic, but it almost wasn't worth the wait!! It took forever for them to do everything. My co-worker and I were here last week and they didn't greet us for several minutes even though we were standing right in front of the hostess. Then, when we were finally seated, our server took our drink orders - which was just water - and then disappeared for 15-20 minutes. The hostess saw that we didn't have drinks after 10 minutes or so and had to ask if our server had even been to our table. Ordering food was the same story. After waiting about twice as long as most other restaurants we finally got 1 of our dinners. The other didn't come until we were finishing the first one - we decided to share both of them since we didn't know when the 2nd would come. After we finally finished our food, it was another 20 minutes before we got our check. And another 20 before she came back with it.
If you have anything planned after dinner, you may want to consider somewhere else.
Tonight, I stopped in to get a sushi roll to-go. I stood at the bar for 15 minutes before I went back to the hostess to ask if I could order from her. She had to go behind the bar and have the bartender come take my order. For a to-go order I was there for...
