Health in Hand Downtown Spartanburg — Restaurant in Spartanburg

I was super happy to find a juice bar in Spartanburg. I read the story about this place and love to support local businesses, especially health conscious ones. So I was excited to try to this place out.

Unfortunately, my excitement was replaced with disappointment after finding out that I couldn’t get a juice made to order (less of a big deal), and then I was charged thirteen bucks for a 16 oz juice (bigger deal)….

Might not seem like a big deal if you don’t have anything to compare to. But, I’ve been drinking raw juice for over 5 years now and everywhere I travel, I find a juice bar. I’ve been to juice bars all over the country, mainly in high cost-of-living cities, and never paid anywhere close to that for the same juice (why am I paying 30-40% more in Spartanburg, SC than in Summerlin, Las Vegas or downtown Denver? Sorry, but that doesn’t make sense…)

I will admit that my expectations were off, as I was expecting a ‘juice bar,’ when in fact their focus is on food and smoothies (and they just happen to serve juice on the side)- and I’m sure everything is great here. But, we all have our sticking points, and their (insultingly) high juice prices happens to be mine. So, this place has lost my business, but if you don’t really care about raw juice, then I’m sure you’ll find something...

Usually would be a fan of this place but I took my friend for her first time today and let’s just say we were both very disappointed in the service & quality of food we got. I am writing this review because I don’t want someone else going in for a good açaí bowl spend $13 and get what we got.😳 It’s honestly just embarrassing that they served us these açaí bowls which we know came straight from the freezer. We asked for our bowls “for here” and we’re served 2 frozen açaí bowls packaged up to go. I stuck my spoon in to get a bite of açaí with the fruit and hit something hard. That was the frozen açaí!🙃 Tried to eat as much as we could, mainly the fruit on top. So disappointing, especially with the $$ we spent. My friend said with that experience, she’d never want to go back again for açaí. The confusing thing is why everyone else who came in while we were there got ‘for here’ bowls and silverware…. 🤔 No consistency there, and I won’t be back for any more açaí after this. Just...

Are you tired of eating the same old processed and boring foods? Are you looking to expand your taste palate? Then Health in Hand is definitely where YOU need to be! The staff is so knowledgeable, kind, and patient. And lets be honest, how many times do you go to a restaurant and are actually served by the owner? Probably less than once. But at Health in Hand, you will always find the owner working hard. All of their juices are made in house, DAILY. The food? Oh, delish! You couldn't ask for anything more fresh and if you are looking for a little treat then I definitely recommend you try their smoothies! (Peanut Butter Banana with the chocolate protein and maca powder is my FAVE!) You really cant go wrong and don't be surprised when this becomes your new favorite...
