Our first was this past Sunday at lunch. We had 4 in our party. Greeted nicely by the hostess and seated quickly in a booth. There are no lights directly over the booths so we had to use our phone flashlights to read the newspaper-like paper menus. I'm not sure how people can see their food at night. There is a lot of different options to choose from on the menu. Server greeted us beautifully and shared her fave items. Unfortunately her attention to us fell off after our food arrived. Had to ask for water and ketchup 3 times. The food was good and a different take on BBQ from what we're use to. We had the chopped pork with hot link sandwich. Tasty but my hot link was a tiny bit cold in middle. My husband's was hot. Brisket also quite good. French fries were tasty but limp. The corn brulee was a nice twist and tasty. Onion rings also good and crispy. As noted in other reviews the prices are a little high. In most cases you have to pay $5 for a side. I can see if for the big bowl of corn but not for fries or onion rings. We will most likely give it another try to see if the service improves. Paying these prices we expect some level of attentiveness and certainly having water glasses refilled atleast once. For out of towers, parking is not close to the restaurant. You have to walk a little bit since they closed the street in front of restaurant. One last point, they use the handheld system to pay your bill. My husband said that a 20% tip was already selected on the screen. We typically pay 20% or more for good service. They way the screen is setup he would have had to go back a step to change it. He's not sure if the server did that or if that's a restaurant default.

Stumbled onto this place and was lucky to do so. The walls are covered with BBQ Bone Fides , multiple championship awards, both local and on the biggest circuit. Once i saw home made pork rinds i knew we were in the right spot. Sat in a square that comes alive with festivities every thursday , food, drink and music Smoking Buttheads should be a destination for any true lover of BBQ. Food- Whole hog BBQ reigns supreme in the south and it’s done to perfection here. While Texas still holds the gold standard for Brisket, even this fantastic. The dry rub on the wings was excellent with sweet citrus notes. The port medallions were melt in your mouth tender. St. louis style ribs were lacquered and sticky sweet but the stand out and i can’t believe I’m saying this was the pulled chicken. Often poultry in BBQ isn’t given the reverence that the other proteins share , however this was tender and delicious. The hot-links had a satisfying snap with a smooth grind and just the right salt content. Sides- I’ll say it again sides can kill a good meal. luckily this wasn’t the case, The collards were briney with a slight tang, and the corn bread was buttery soft and sweet. Don’t skip on these. Service- While there was a wait, which is to be expected, service was prompt, attentive and very friendly! A+ Atmosphere- As stated it site on the corner of a main street next to a park. The building while unidentifiable had certainly sat there for some time. It was open and airy with a full bar and accolades adorning all most all walls. Final Thoughts- Visit, try something i didn’t mention, bet it’s awesome. Definitely worth the trip and the price. p.s. Deep fried rib, you’re welcome

1st off, just look at the food, smh.... Went to Smoking Butt Heads BBQ in downtown Spartanburg yesterday & let me tell yall about how crazy this experience was.... 1st off, it took a little minute for our drink orders, then when we got our drinks, my oldest notice something white floating in it, sent it back, got a new cup & drink... My oldest had the royal burger which consists of 2 smashed patties with cheese brisket on top inside of 2 brioche buns, he said it tasted like nothing until he got to the last 2 bites & he tasted flavor & the fries were a little burned... I had the collard green, brisket, & cream cheese egg rolls with a raspberry something drizzled on top of it, i tasted nothing but the cream cheese & raspberry sauce.... I also got the chilli cheese fries which are in the picture as well & when I seen it, I already knew it wasn't gonna be appetizing, tried it anyway & all I tasted was greasy fat from the brisket & the fries were burned! The only thing I liked was the mac & cheese my daughter ordered.... Let's get to the waitress tho, who cater to a bigger party of 5 then us which was a table of 3.... Not once did she come ask us was the food good but she checked on the table that came in after us numerous times, she did not refill our drinks once, but had the audacity to drop our bill off & was gonna walk away until I stopped & told her about my food! It was taken off but I will never be back & this was my 2nd time here, the 1st time was a month after they opened & it was GREAT but this 2nd experience, never again!

2 hours waiting on two orders of wings, that never got, I’m still waiting on you guys, all I want is my money back from the wings I didn’t get or my wings… this review can always be updated, instead of you “reviewing” my business too. If I don’t hear back from you by tomorrow, I’ll dispute the charges with my bank, which I don’t want to do, cause my bank will refund the whole amount, all I’m asking is for you to do things right. Have a nice day!!!!

Response to their response: I didn’t know as an owner of a business, I didn’t have the right to give a review, but ok! I walked into to your establishment at 8:45, placed my firs order of 10 wings each order (2 total) I have my wife and kids waiting for the delicious wings you serve (I didn’t stop talking about them all day cause I was there the previous day) and I got those close to 10 pm, and they didn’t packed them to go, so they took them back and put them inside box, and brought them out 5 minutes later, at this point, we are still waiting on the other 2 orders we place of 6 each, to eat there five minutes after we order the first ones, for the people I came with, again! Cause I told the other guy I came with that they are amazing. At this point the place it’s almost empty, and no wings have arrived, as a restaurant owner I understand being busy can affect your operation, but we asked about them a few times, and even after a while, one of your amazing employees (she wear glasses) approached and asked how we were doing, and told us the wings were about to come out after she find out what was going on and they “were on the line” I’m imagining that they forgot to place the order cause you are telling me only 34 minutes later, but that’s not the problem, I have to kids and I wife craving the wings that I couldn’t stop talking about all they and waiting, and my wife tells me my oldest daughter couldn’t stay up waiting, and she was gonna try to stay up, and that made me asked for the bill, cause I couldn’t wait any longer, I did the review, cause whoever brought me the bill didn’t even ask a manager if she should charge me for the wings I told her I couldn’t wait anymore for… now here is where I wonder (knowing a review can always be edited) is that a policy? Even if you can’t wait for food any longer cause you have to go, and you invited the people to that place and need to give them a ride home afterwards? Or it’s not ok to review a place cause there was no manager that was told I was leaving mad, and without food that I actually pay for. This review is my frustration way to say that I think it was so wrong in many levels, and still knowing I’m 4 doors down, and someone could have come and get me, to fix the charge or something. And you still haven’t even try to fix it… and just bring up my business position like as owner of another business I don’t have a way express my frustration, or am I supposed to just swallow it and move on? Just think about it, and like I said reviews here can always be changed, but is always up to us as business owners and how we handle things. I have always supported new businesses, and I have reviewed on my personal account (I’m not hiding being the owner of Burgär) other businesse, and more businesses like yours make Spartanburg a better destination and that’s good for everyone here, that doesn’t mean I can’t express my frustration. Have a...

*Please Be Sure And Read All Negative Reviews For Thos Restaurant. Sunday 4:30pm. 3/2/25. Only four tables of people eating. Slim dark haired waitress, Bryn. We had to ask for a paper menu. She complied but said prices were incorrect on the paper menu. Correct prices on kiosk at table. As an older couple, it was hard to see in there and we didn't want to order like we were at home online. Used the flashlights on our phone. We ordered brisket and ribs plate with ff. 21.00. A pastrami sandwich (it comes with no sides) 15.75, a side of what we understood was baked beans, a side of macaroni and cheese, and a side of collard greens, 5.00 each. One sweet tea and one zero sugar coke, 3.09 each. Food came. There was more fat on the brisket than there was meat and it sure was small. And barely warm. The three small ribs were also barely warm. The hot sausage was warmer but very tiny. FFs were hot. The pastrami sandwich was warm and full of fat and hardly any meat, every bite had big chunks of fat. It was dripping in slaw that was nippy but entirely to much. The sides were pitiful. Hardly any in the already small bowls and at 5.00 extra each, they should have been very full and hot. They weren't. The macaroni and cheese was warm. The collards and beans were ice cold. When waitress finally came by our table, we told her. She asked if we wanted it heated up or replaced. Replace please, no restaurant should ever reheat. She brought them back at 14 minutes later and told us that the stove they were on was off on that end and the staff were not paying attention and they just turned it back on. Then she said sorry. OMG!! No telling how long they were sitting like that it must have been at least two hours for it to be that cold!! It can make us sick! They sides she brought back were steaming hot now. Microwave?? Re-boiled?? Don't know. The rest of our food was now very cold. We shouldn't have even eaten it. I hope neither of us gets sick. Those so called baked beans were actually a type of cowboy chili tasting thing with green chillies, bacon, and pieces of potatoes. Yuck. My husband and I couldn't eat that and had it removed from our bill. Our bill total was 59.29 after the removed beans. No manager came to speak with us, no discount, no offer to replace same meal at another time. Nothing. That is entirely too much money for what we paid for. We paid, left waitress a tip and as we were leaving, she asked us if we enjoyed everything and we told her NO and why. She said she understood and said for us to have a nice evening. We always support local business and local restaurants, but, we will not...

So for starters I came here specifically to try their burnt ends which are hard to find down here. I was going to doordash them as I haven't seen them on there before but I wasn't sure if the order on doordash was for a pound or not. So I called, and called, and called and it would only ever go to someone's personal cell phone, Tim or Todd I can't remember. So there's no way to contact them. So I went to order on their website instead and on the website it shows a price per pound and then when you click it it forces you to select an additional pound doubling the price. You can check that for yourselves. Brisket and burnt ends. I did notice however the website menu that you order from updates with whether the item is low or sold out and this item was fully available so I got excited. I decided to drive the 20 minutes there and look for parking just for these famous burnt ends. Google says they're open till 12. With no way to call I was doubtful the kitchen stayed open that late but probably closed an hour or so before that. I arrived to an empty dining room and asked for a table for one. I knew what I wanted already so I asked for the burnt ends and was told they were out. I then ordered the brisket and a collard green egg roll. Food came out quickly and my server Heather who was also the bartender was very friendly, had my refill before I needed it and probably asked how I was doing 8 times easy. Best service I've had in a long time, granted I was the only table. The brisket was shiny, super moist, nice bark, solid smoke ring and perfectly sliced. The egg roll looked great and was drizzled in one of their sauces. All that said. My brisket was served room temperature and so after the first slice, it was very cold. The egg roll which was definitely deep fried to order was also somehow just warm. I was expecting to have to blow on it at least. Sauces were interesting, nice takes on the classics. But man was I disappointed there was no way to contact the restaurant. No way to know if they had what I wanted or to explain the menu in anyway. Food tasted great but was not at a proper serving temperature and the service was 11/10. Thank you Heather. With those highs and lows I feel a 3star is fair. Had my food been hot and maybe had the items I really wanted been available or there have been a way to know it's available this would've been an...
