Horrible, Terrible, Awful and that's being kind. Four of us went to the Silo for dinner last night and the best thing I can say is that the beer is tasty. It's hard to describe which was worse, the food or the service but I'll give it a shot. Our server was as clueless as it gets. We ordered a round of beers and four waters to get started along with an appetizer. After waiting forever with no beer she stopped by to check on how the app was and exclaimed "Oh my god" realizing she never put in the beer order. The beers eventually arrived although trying to get the four glasses of water took an eternity. Getting our food was a whole other adventure. We sat and waited and waited and then our server stopped by to explain that the internet went down for only her tablet and our food order was dropped. Now only her tablet was affected when this glitch happened. At this point she said our next round of beers would be on the house. We sat with empty glasses hoping she would come by for our next round and only after the food arrived were we able to flag her down. Now onto the food. The appetizer mentioned earlier was a simple order of pretzels and beer cheese. Not sure how you can screw up beer cheese but this place did it. The cheese consisted of a small cup of watery liquid. For dinner, two of us got the Salmon Tikka sandwiches. The salmon was tasteless and dry, and even the bread was bad. Bland and stale tasting. Our one friend just got pulled pork egg rolls which literally contained no pulled pork. But the winner of last night's dinner debacle was the chicken schnitzel. Our friend stopped eating it after one bite and when we all tried it we understood why. The chicken tasted like it was fried in motor oil. I have no idea how anyone could eat this and not get sick. Even the sides were terrible. The fries were soggy with the same bad oil taste and the collard greens tasted like leaves cooked in salt. I can honestly say that dinner at the Silo was the worst dining experience I can remember in the last...
Read moreThe beer-ranged from ok to really good. Tried 2 flights and had to drive so couldn't finish the flights. The true stand out was the Barrel Aged Black Perle. An incredible flavor of DIPA, stout and a really nice blast of bourbon. Had the wings. This is during the food availability crisis so maybe these weren't the normal wings. They were not very plump. They did have a hint of smoky flavor that was nice and give them enough sauce for it to rest on the paper it's served on. They were overall OK. Their fries were really good. Fresh cut and a really nice seasoning on the. Onion rings were tasty and the sauce was nicely spicy. Chicken sandwich got a good review. There was a mishap with one of our items and the staff really worked hard to correct it. Can't say enough about the staff and their efforts. They were outstanding. The tap room was large and crowded on a Friday evening. Great to see at dusk of the age of COVID. The food side was not as busy so we got a table without a wait. Be mindful that the beer selection on the tap room side is wider so make sure to check that side for more beers if you order on the restaurant side. It's in an old warehouse....
Read moreHad heard good things an out this brewery so decided to visit while in the area. The service started off well, but quickly declined. There were only a few patrons when we arrived. The waiter came right over but we weren’t ready. He did come back quickly. He took our order, and brought the drinks back quickly. We waited forever for our appetizer and watched while a large group that came in after us got their appetizer before we did. After a long period, the waiter did stop back to our table to see if we wanted anything else. We had completely finished our drinks by this time and still the appetizer had not come out. We mentioned the delay in the appetizer and the fact that the large group had several appetizers come out and we were still waiting on ours. He proceeded to make excuses. No apology or indication that he would look into. Very disappointing. Our appetizer did eventually come out. We had no silverware and no papertowels. We had planned to order dinner as well but after this we decided to cash out and go elsewhere for dinner. It is also disappointing that you must leave a minimum of a 20% tip. Clearly it was not deserved. Will...
