Read moreHoly wow!! We came upon this restaurant as a happy accident as we were watching a show at the Civic Theatre. Our first choice for food was closed for an event, and we noticed Kasa as we were walking back disappointed to our car. I am so glad we did!! We started off with a beer flight, and while I usually am indifferent to the beers I try, all four that I tried were amazing! The moon sugar brew, though… wow. It is amazing and unique, and I have never purchased a growler before today, but I couldn’t resist taking home more of it. Then we tried the Double Dirty Fries and were blown away again! Every bite was a burst of flavor and texture, and we dipped all the clean fries in homemade ketchup that was deliciously tangy. We also shared the burger, which had homemade pickles and aioli on it… out of this world. And the house bread that came as the side was soft, buttery-garlicky, and fresh! Lastly, before we left to pay, the restaurant gave us a complimentary brownie with ice cream, which was rich and melted in my mouth. The portions were great, and although I left much too full, I enjoyed every single bite.
I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I never leave reviews unless I’m leaving angry ones (😂), but I feel so compelled to share our experience so others can experience it also! The food and beer will blow you away, even if you’re not the biggest beer...
Read moreI've eaten at Kasa twice to try to get a sense of what they're trying to do so that I can leave them a fair review. The service is friendly, but perhaps overcompensating for the food, which I've found disappointing both times I've dined in.
The good: They have a nice selection of beers from local brewers, though with a pretty hefty price tag. There's also a lovely view of the butterfly at Riverfront Park. The menu has options for dietary restrictions labelled clearly. Service was kind and quick but more talkative than we had the energy for.
Room for improvement: The food just isn't particularly good, especially given excellent options in the surrounding area. Every time we've been in, we've gotten chicken either in the crispy, cutlet-esque form or grilled. In each case, the chicken is dry, overcooked, and the meat itself under-seasoned. We encountered this with the Not Chicken Wings and the grilled chicken in the Caesar Salad Wrap. The sauces run overly sweet, particularly the ketchup, house hoisin, and banh mi pork sauces. This masks any other flavors present.
Although many dishes run way too sweet for my taste and some run too salty, others are particularly bland. For example the Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap did not taste of Caesar dressing and lacked flavor, while the fries were...
