This review is not for the food which on its own is amazing and for that reason I will be returning but today I went to get the new BlackBerry waffle on my lunch break as a mother's Day gift to myself.. I ordered online and it said it would take just about 10 minutes so I drove there in that time and when I arrived it was not ready. I waited in my car until I got a text notifying me my order was ready. The hostess told me that that was strange because it was not indeed ready. I stood there awkwardly for a second as she gave me no explanation so I went back to my car. I waited a good half an hour before I went in again and grabbed my order but a young lady wearing glasses told me she had to first "make sure they had everything" in my bag and apparently go to the back of the house and ask someone (after I had already been waiting a long time) I thought this was very strange and indicated as much by telling her ok...? I was obviously in a hurry but she made me wait longer. Weird but I had to use the restroom anyway so when I was done I grabbed my food and she asked if I wanted syrup. I asked her if that was not included in a very puzzled tone of voice and she didn't respond but said she would go grab some. I really needed to get back to work but also wanted some syrup (why that was not included I don't know) so I waited some more until I saw the server I spoke with come out of the back not with my syrup but to talk to another server. Some nerve. I felt I was being given the run around. I just wanted a nice mother's Day meal but was played games with and made to wait unnecessarily. This experience really turned me off and I wouldn't come back were it not for the food. I think this server needs a new job. ETA: the front end employees seem to have an attitude issue. I ordered today over the phone and was asked why I "didn't order online" which was strange but I proceeded to order and asked about the worms and dirt waffle which apparently they don't do anymore. I asked if there was a cookies and cream waffle as my kid was wanting a waffle and the young lady went silent. I said hello several times until she answered that no, they did not "have anything like that". I thought that was strange as I recalled ordering that before. I looked online at the menu and sure enough there is a cookies and cream waffle. Irritated, I called in and ordered one for my child. When I picked up my order I noticed they did not include the syrup I specifically requested. I don't know what's going on behind the scenes but These employees need to learn not to take their frustrations out on the customers because that clearly seems to be...
Read moreThis place needs a lot of work. My wife and I have eaten here twice now, and both times were very unpleasant. The first time we ordered "The Benny," it was disappointing, to say the least. The hollandaise sauce was sour, and the waffle seemed to have cayenne pepper and paprika in the batter; it just tasted weird.
I did my best to eat around 30% of mine, and my wife couldn't do more than a bite. The manager was very understanding and gave us two free vouchers in hopes we would give them another chance.
That second chance happened today. We decided to "play it safe" and went for the "Plain Jane" and asked if we could add strawberries to it on the side, along with butter and syrup on the side as well. The waitress rang it up as the "Strawberries n' Cream" for some reason that I'm still unsure of.
We received our food quickly (too quickly for a "fresh" waffle), and the manager who brought us our food immediately apologized for not having any butter that wasn't frozen. Apparently, they forgot to take it out of the freezer this morning (it was 1 PM at this point) but he assured us that he would be right back with some softened butter.
He came back to our table about 2 mins later with a small container of butter that he assured us was softened. It wasn't -- it was still very frozen. Well, ok, so no butter with our waffles that are now pretty cold and a bit stiff. Because as we all know, frozen waffles that are heated up get a bit stiff after they cool down.
We finished what we could of our food and placed our free vouchers on our plates, and then walked out the door, never to return again. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I will be telling the plethora of people I know to avoid this place. I honestly can't believe that any of these positive reviews are from real...
Read moreToo expensive for the overall bad experience we had.
Ordered through Treehouse and the information was confusing on the ordering system. Had to call in twice to figure out that the whole restruant was gluten-free, as item descriptions it made it sound like there were gulten and non-gluten options. Perfect, what we were looking for.
Descriptions provided options (Kids Meal: Strawberries n' Cream, Lemon Blue, or Curious George), but when selected to add to cart, no options were available to select from. This meant every selection had to be written in the comments, which has a cap on how many characters it has. So be careful when ordering a Kids Meal and typing "Curious George and Strawberry Lemonade" in the comments.
Our order arrived well packaged and only one item was missing, Almonds for the kids meal: Curious George. The sauces were bad. The hollandaise sauce on The Benny was grossly sour and tasted strong of mustard. The banana pastry cream on the Curious George was gritty and tasted like an overripe banana and the whip cream was over-whipped.
Poached eggs are difficult to judge for delivery, but it's the inconsistencies that need to be pointed out. The first egg for my The Benny that I broke into was cooked well, nice and runny yoke and set my expectations high. The second egg was cooked to the point that it was basically a hard boiled egg. My wife had a simular experience with her The Benny. Her first egg was slightly overcooked, but still had a slightly runny egg and the second one was basically a hard boiled egg.
Usually we give restruants three tries before passing judgement, but this restruant had too many problems from the beginning, especially for how much it cost. After being open as long as they have, they should be well past the challenges of a newly...
