Unfortunately we had a terrible experience at the safari room directly related to management issues. We called for a party of 7 earlier in the day and were advised we would have no issue getting a table for our group without reservation (which were not available as an option). Upon arrival we received no sort of seating and were left to fend for ourselves to compile a table large enough to seat our group. Our poor server, Olivera, was terribly overworked, literally running from table to table to serve her work zone. Despite being drastically overworked, Olivera was very attentive and sweet. It was a very busy evening and things took very long to arrive from the kitchen to the table. We waited approximately an hour to receive a part of what was ordered. After an hour and a half we received some of our entrees and the remaining appetizers. After raising concerns of missing entrees and incomplete appetizers to Jamie the manager on shift, she did not hesitate to throw her staff under the bus without accepting any responsibility on behalf of the management team. After another half hour of waiting, Jamie told us she would take care of us for the inconvenience. Shortly after our server circled back around with tears rolling down her face after an obvious back end confrontation occurred between Jamie and the server. In order to “take care” of us, Jamie gave us a $17 discount on a $350 tab. We asked for Jamie’s name and gave notice that we would be leaving this review. As we were walking out the door, the server sprinted out the door to beg us not to leave this review, clearly concerned about retaliation. I’ve spent a lot of time in the safari room in the past and always been beyond pleased with the service. Unfortunately I will not be returning or recommending this restaurant to anyone I know in the future. There are clearly huge management issues that have slipped through the cracks and honestly I am embarrassed to see the way management attempts to resolve their...
Read moreI took my daughter in for a birthday treat and a bit of food. This is a beautiful restaurant inside a beautiful hotel with an obvious tiger exotic cat theme to it. The service took forever. It took us 15 minutes to get a glass of water, that was after she took our food order. I got fried green tomatoes. They were under salted and slightly under cooked. The presentation was nice. ( I am from Alabama and have been eating them my entire life) I had the tortilla soup or something to that effect. I was disappointed they did not include any type of bread or tortillas. The beans were under cooked in the soup and it was just ehhh. The presentation was not appetizing My daughter had chicken fingers and fries. They were ok. She told us there was a free dessert for birthdays, I had the lemon sorbet and my daughter wanted Ice cream. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is the presentation and skillfully put together sorbet. It was delicious and my daughter soon stole my sorbet lol. The server brought the check before the dessert, Then forgot to comp the dessert and had to rerun my card. They were understaffed on server's, so I will give her that. Fundamental 101 mistakes were made and this comes from a guy, that works and has worked in the service industry and bar industry for 25 years. I just believe she needs a bit more training, She was super sweet though. I could tell she didn't really have any help as well so I'm not throwing it all on her. I am throwing it on management for allowing such basic mistakes to occur as of the place was not even remotely busy there may have been 4-5 tables total including us. I tipped her like 33% because I felt bad for her. Not to mention everybody needs to tip servers more, believe me I've been there and done that. The pricing was reasonable. I just expected a bit more from such a nice place inside such a beautiful hotel. If I go back it will definitely be for the sorbet. Although they did have an antelope burger that looked...
Read moreDisappointed to have to leave a bad review about this place I had high hopes because I've heard good things BUT we made a reservation for dinner and had to wait in a line to be seated. Once seated we didn't have enough cutlery for all of us had to ask for more, I ordered an old fashioned to drink and instead of a big gentlemens ice cube it was filled with small ice cubes and was watered down within 1 minute. I ordered the french onion soup for a starter ($11) not even exaggerating it tasted like a beef top ramen packet with a few onions and cheese that wasn't melted. Got the New york strip steak, veggies and mashed potatoes ($40) which is always my "go to" when on a limited menu. The steak had SO much hard fat on it and was also overly salty, the broccolini was HARD not just a bit crunchy I mean HARD and the piece that wasn't hard tasted extremely over cooked and tasted like fish. The mashed potatoes were just very bland and boring. Normally for this meal the price wouldn't bother me in the slightest that'd actually be very cheap if it tasted great but for the quality being not even on par with Denny's there's no way I could pay for my plate. Fortunately they did take my whole meal off the bill but I highly do not recommend eating here and I will not be back. Merry Christmas.. Now time to cook at home because I'm...
