There comes a point in every mans life when he has to make a difficult decision. My moment came on March 19th 2022. I was on a weekend vacation in the Spokane area when myself and a buddy innocently drove by this establishment and thought to ourselves "we should hit that up, maybe it will be some alright food". How could we have known then that our simple, meaningless lives were about to change forever. The following day we came back through town and stopped in for lunch. Phillycious immediately passed the vibe check with the alluring aroma of greasy meat frying on the grill, pictures of sandwiches that make you drool, and a guy yelling at us from behind the counter somewhere encouraging us to forget the menu and build what we want custom. We proceeded to load up meat, more meat, double cheese, all the veggies, kimchi? why not! kimchi aioli? sure! other sauces? yes please! We quickly sat down to eat our pipping hot monstrosities, oozing cheese and grease and sauce everywhere. Suddenly we were no longer sitting in Phillycious on Division st, we were soaring through the cosmos. Rocketing through the very fabric of our own existence propelled by flavors previously unknown to mankind. It felt as if were barely taking a moment to breath as we consumed the 1st half of the sandwich at a pace akin to a ravenous honey badger. We briefly paused to take in a newly acquired sense of life, love and happiness, quickly diving into the second half. Soon we were soaring again, launching through a black hole past Matthew McConaughey on his mission to save mankind. He yelled at us as we passed "I see you've discovered Phillycious!" and we knew in that moment the real reason he sacrificed it all, he too had experienced philly perfection in this very establishment and could not live in a world where it would be destroyed along with the human race. As we neared the end of our experience, we looked back on our brief time on this planet and realized the ensuing conundrum we were about to find ourselves in. At some point our food journey would come to a close and we would have to return to our families who surely were wondering what was taking so long and why we were unavailable by text or phone. This was our moment. Do we forsake it all, throw caution to the wind and refuse to ever leave this place? Subsisting solely on the worlds greatest Philly's till an inevitable coronary embolism? Or do we pack it up and go home to those people, what were their names again? It's hard to remember at a time like this. After much debate we decided the best route forward was to place an order for a few more full Philly's to take with us. Although not to share, no no no. Later that night we would yet again dine on these wonderful, messy, greasy, fried-animal filled, gooey, spicy piece of heaven sandwiches. Surreal. We will be coming by this area at least a few times a year now as we have family near-by. And you can bet that this will be the first and last spot we visit each-and-every-time. Its a crying shame we live 7hrs away from this place. How far does UberEats...
Read moreThe best Philly sandwiches in Spokane, from my experience. I will never go to Bruchi's again. Sorry Bruchi's, but there's a "night and day" difference between your sandwiches and Phillycious sandwiches. I guess that's what you get when you go to a chain of franchise restaurants. Besides, I prefer to support local businesses.
Phillycious has a limited but specialized menu including 8" and foot long sandwiches of several different varieties, including teriyaki and Thai peanut chicken, Korean BBQ, and ribeye steak, and you have your choice of many additional ingredients and condiments to add to your order, and most of them are free. For a reasonable extra charge, you can also get extra meat, bacon, and extra cheese, (several varieties) and side sauces. In addition, they have yummy rice bowls with the same optional toppings. They also have the best seasoned fries I have ever eaten, plus several more made-to-order, fresh and tasty menu items. 😋
The customer service is very notable as well. They are very helpful and personable. Bottom line, LOTS of people work in customer service, but very few are really good at it. With that in mind, there are a couple of employees at the Division street store that stand out because they always go above and beyond the "line of duty." Therefore, they deserve special mention: Zachary and Will are always very kind, polite, and helpful. Their customer service is top notch, they always have a smile at the ready. It's a pleasure seeing and being served by them. Thank you, gentlemen, and many thanks for the delicious... "Phillycious" food!
I'll be back again soon... as usual. All the best,...
Read moreEverytime since theve opened The Food has been amazing! Nicely sized with plenty of juicy flavor I get the same Korean BBQ 12 with Chipotle mayo, green peppers, mushrooms, and 2 different cheeses. it had been So good in fact. if someone I met hadn't tried it. I would bring them. Unfortunately in the last 6 to 9 months I've gone 6 times and gotten between 2 and 4 sandwiches each time. 4 of those times unfortunately I've been really let down and a bit embarrassed since I always brag so heavily about them. The recent sandwiches have been very hit and miss as far as how they would come out. Oddly enough though One of those 6 times it was actually the best sandwich I've had there out of the probably 60 times ive gone. That 1 was at the sprague branch location which i had never been . Told him about the other 3 experiences i had had recently . I had almost givin up on the place after the sub par experiences then the sandwiches he made was the same size as it always had been previous and the flavor was just amazing he restored my faith ! Then the next one was not bad but nothing to write home about then this last one was about the same. I'm really hoping they find there way back to the way they were. Because to me they were hands down the best phillycheese...
