So, went and ate here due to receiving birthday coupons that allowed me to try menu items that I wouldn't normally get. The main course for me was the Rigatoni Abruzzi, the tomato sauce spice was bit weak but then again it was said to be mild, sausage was more salty than sweet but it does work with the pasta, the highlight of the dish however was the roasted peppers, aromatic and with that pleasant texture that comes with that slow heat cooking. Had to take half away cause it was so filling, also the appetizer I got I got the Bertucci's Sampler, mostly to try out a selection of most of their appetizer selection, the mozzarella fritta worked out pretty well, the meatball was nothing special though they might have lost a bit of heat when they got to my table, the flatbread was more crumbly than I expected but it was serviceable. The REAL highlight was the Tuscan chicken wings though. Lemon and rosemary highlights really did infuse with the meat, I didn't think they were spicy but they sure were bursting with flavor and honestly if you're the sort that watch sports at home, I'm pretty sure that a whole bunch of these would tide your watch party over with a rich flavor. I certainly the next time I eat here would get a whole order of those Tuscan Chicken Wings instead. The atmosphere is still on the whole, pretty good with a relaxed old worldly look with the brick internals and view of the pizza ovens. if you're wanting to eat out in a more appealing environment, you can't...
Read moreWhen dining in last night, we were quickly seated. Our waitress, Sue was very pleasant and attentive. She brought our drinks as well as rolls and oil to start. I informed her that we prefer butter and would not be needing the olive oil. She said that the policy is to now charge 50 cents per pat of butter. I reoedt hat we would still like the butter, because after all a big draw to Bertuccis is their rolls. We ordered dinner and an appetizer. I was happy to see that they brought back a favorite of mine, the chicken domani. When our meals were brought, temperature was great, portions were ample. The chicken in my meal appeared to be a prebreaded chicken that was rather chewy. I ended up removing the chicken and just eating the pasta. The chicken in the other dish, fettuccine and chicken was noted as grilled chicken in the menu description. The chicken in the actual meal appeared to just be boiled, no actual grill marks on any pieces. In a time when restaurants are trying to stay afloat,I understand raising prices. The quality should also go along with the raised price! Sue was a wonderful server and spoke with the manager about my comment that in choosing butter over oil, there should be no upcharge. I can understand an upcharge...
