Service: When we walked in, there were no greetings or acknowledgment from the hostess. No one was in line at this time, 5:15pm. They also didn’t acknowledge us when we left. The waiter seemed bored and was emotionless the entire time. It made us feel super awkward and out of place. Staff training will be beneficial here. Food: Hotpot is my favorite type of meal but I do not recommend getting Hotpot here. We got the Sichuan spice and the Korean Kimchi soup base, both were very mid and not flavorful. There are only 6 slices of meat per order, so small serving sizes. BBQ was also mid. Other than the bulgogi, all other meat cuts are not marinated. The chili powder 100% saved the day and made the food taste so much better (turned Korean BBQ into Mongolian style BBQ with the chili powder dry rub dip). DO NOT GET THE SPICY SALMON. It was fishy and not fresh. The oysters were sandy… order at your own risk. The best things for the grill are bulgogi and garlic shrimp. We dipped the other meat cuts in chili powder. Free ice cream is always good lol. Overall, the service was bad and the food was mid. I would give it another try but we’re only a 35 minute drive away from Philly Chinatown.

This is not a real Korean restaurant. Don’t ever go there – it’s a waste of money. The meat quality is poor, and it looks nothing like the photos. The ribs are extremely tough, and the oysters are completely flavorless; they don’t even have a hint of saltiness. It’s hard to make pickled radish taste bad, but theirs has a detergent smell. Even the water and lemonade have a disinfectant odor. The dishes don’t feel clean, and the kimchi and cucumber side dishes are tasteless. The seaweed salad is the only thing that resembles anything familiar. For dessert, they serve cake, fruit ice cream, and two drinks in soup containers: one is a coconut-based fruit punch, and the other is a date-flavored drink. Surprisingly, the date drink was the best part of the meal—I regret ordering the lemonade. I never want to go back. I thought since it was newly opened, it might be better, but the seafood buffet next door is preferable. I hope I don’t get sick from this meal. I’m leaving this review because it was such a complete waste of money. I can’t understand why Chinese-owned restaurants are using Korean names to run their business.

After a long day of Christmas toy shopping for a giveaway, I decided to treat my mom to Seoul Hotpot in Springfield, and it was such a fun experience! At first, she was skeptical—her exact words were, “Wait, we’re paying to cook our own food?” But once I explained it’s all about the vibe and experience, she got into it and ended up having a blast. We opted for the full menu, which included a free lobster tail and all-you-can-eat crab legs—totally worth it! The food was fresh, and the flavors were amazing. The restaurant itself was spotless, the atmosphere was friendly, and the staff gave clear, helpful instructions, making the experience enjoyable and easy, even for first-timers like my mom. Seoul Hotpot turned out to be the perfect mix of great food and social therapy. We laughed, bonded, and had a great time working together to cook our meal. It’s not just dinner—it’s an experience. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a unique, interactive dining spot. We’ll definitely be back!

As far as hot pot/"Korean" bbq fusion restaurants go, this place is on the cheaper side. Food wasn't too bad, but service was a bit slow. A few key takeaways from my visit here:

The grill for the "Korean" bbq was a bit small and burned way too easily (the first grill we had wasn't oiled very well). It would've been nice if the broth options had descriptions on the menu, other than just "spicy" or "vegetarian" (I ordered the Thai Tom Yum option, but if I had known that it was going to be so citrusy I would've ordered something else). They don't offer as many meat options for the hot pot (you have to get the bbq to get a lot of the meats that are usually included at other hot pot places). They should just do one, flat price for dining. Every group that I saw try to explain to the hostess that some of the group would do hot pot out and others were just doing bbq were so confused by the explanation that the hostess was providing. Basically, there is no mixing and matching allowed. If the whole group is not doing just hot pot or bbq, then you have to pay the full hot pot + bbq price for everyone. That being said, it's only a $5 difference (so the guy complaining about have to pay extra for his group is being overly dramatic), so just offer a single price and let people choose what they want to get.

I'd probably give this place another shot if I were back in the area, but I'd probably just get...

This is the first time I’ve ever felt the need to leave a negative review, but our experience at Seoul Korean BBQ and Hot Pot (825 Baltimore Pike, Springfield, PA 19064) was unacceptable.

We arrived as a group of four adults, two young children, and a toddler. Some of us wanted hot pot, while others preferred BBQ. We were told we’d need to pay an extra $5 per person — including the children and toddler— just to access both options, even though no one wanted both.

To avoid this, we suggested splitting into two separate tables with separate bills. The receptionist said we could do that, but then refused to seat us next to each other without paying the surcharge. Just before we sat down, she also told us an automatic 18% service charge would still apply — even though we were now two separate parties now. When we pointed out that their own sign says the 18% service charge applies to parties of 6 or more, she simply replied, “That’s how it works here.”

At that point, we left. I always tip for good service, but being forced to pay a higher tip under policies they don’t even follow consistently felt dishonest.

I'm sure the food here is probably great — but I hope management sees this and seriously reconsiders their receptionist’s attitude and how these policies are applied, before advertising an experience that doesn’t...

I went here with my boyfriend recently and we were very excited to try this place out. We got both the hotpot & bbq...it was very disappointing. There were only a few items that actually tasted good but everything else was mid. The hotpot broth was very watery & had no flavor whatsoever. Our order of the takoyaki & seafood pancake took FOREVER to arrive, we ordered them in the beginning of our time there. When it finally arrived, the takoyaki was severely undercooked therefore making it inedible. The pancake would've been better as a regular scallion pancake because the seafood bits made it mushy. Worst of all, our grill caught on FIRE and NO ONE even noticed, let alone helped us. My boyfriend actually put out the fire using one of the big mushrooms. Like what? We had to grab the attention of a worker (who wasn't even a server by the way) to replace the grill. Our table smelled like char after that. On top of that, our server delivered the worst service I've ever had in my life. If he changed our grill when we asked him to, the fire definitely wouldn't have happened. He barely checked in on us. Sorry but we will not be coming back. Spent over $75 for an absolute disappointment....
