Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Springfield

The staff is racist. My friend and I went lastniight at 2am. The woman taking our order was unresponsive I assume we didn't sound white enough. Once we got to the window we met a grizzly bear of a woman white with line backer shoulders busting out her collared uniform shirt. She collected our money and scurried back into the restaurant never to be seen for 15min. She returned with our meal which was completely wrong. My sandwich was cold to the touch and sloppy. Our fries were cold and lacking the Cajun seasoning we requested. My friend's meal was also a D average, containing onions which she didn't want. We pulled back around to the window. The grizzly bear peeped us and scurried to the back, a man came to the window I assume was the manager for her wore a flannel. My friend explained to the manager what was wrong with our order and he was immediately confrontational and assured us the food was made fresh. A complete insult for the food was disgustingly cold. We finally told us he would "redo" the order. We waited another 15 minutes we looked back into the oddly elevated drive thru window which was about 3 feet higher than our average sized vehicle window to see the grizzly bear the lumber jack manager and what seemed to be a meth head fry cook gathered in our sights. Fry cook asked us to move up. We did and waited for what seemed like forever. Once we received our meals the man stood before and in a sarcastic tone apologized and cuddled us until we responded and acknowledged him his hands were crossed and head bowed slightly. I responded with a "I just wanted fresh food" because at this point I knew they had tampered with out food. The new order was no better than the last the fries still had no Cajun seasoning and my friends burger had a pile of onions on the side instead of on the burger. After almost completing her burger she pulled an African American hair out the food she ate. We we're disgusted at the hate. Once I arrived home I went upstairs to brush my teeth and it also reveal there was kinky hair in my food as well. This place won't...

This particular restaurant has undergone some major changes. The dining room has about half the seating that it once had. In my opinion, it just made the atmosphere odd, just too much open space. Also, now you just order at the counter before sitting. There are no menus, just a vague board on the side wall upon entering. The manager on duty was not customer oriented by any means. We waited several minutes for a young man to finally step to the register to take our order. We both ordered chili-type items. The young man hollored back 2 more chili & she was not happy. There was a gentleman & the manager on grill. She started yelling something back to him about our order. I looked directly at her and she caught my gaze. She suddenly got quiet. I asked the young man if our order created a problem for her. He said no, she's just overwhelmed. We were the only people at the counter, there were only 2 tables occupied (3 including us) & drive-thru had 1 car. I know they may have had app orders &/or third-party delivery orders, but their speed did not seem to indicate they were annihilated with other orders, again, just my opinion. Long story short, we weren't comfortable there, our food was incorrect, service was pretty slow and the manger seemed to have a bad attitude. I hope she was just having a bad or off day & that's not the normal. Guess...

This was simply.....awful. They're offering practically nothing anymore, no salads no chicken etc. Honestly upon walking in I immediately wanted to leave but I'd already promised the kids lunch and they were excited, but that would soon change. The kids got a hot dog and grilled cheese and a shake each. The hot dog was burnt and crusty and the grilled cheese looked like it had one slice of cheese on microwaved bread. My mom got a hot dog (just as bad as the kids) and I got a ponyshoe which was basically all cheese and bread with no meat or fries. The shakes we got tased like they'd been premade and sitting in a freezer because the whipped cream was hard and chunky. Honestly the WORST $50 I've spent in a LONG time and I'm seriously not even one to usually complain....it's really pathetic what steak and...
