Mound City Sandwich Shop — Restaurant in St. Louis

I wrote the latter half of this review on my first visit. I'm not someone who only writes bad reviews. So today, about a week after my first visit, I came to meet my boyfriend for lunch again. His job site is right is around the corner so we can't beat the location. This time it was a totally different experience, in the best way possible:) the woman behind the counter was super friendly and acknowledged me as soon as I walked in as well as, I noticed, every other person who came in after me. The service was fast and the food was delicious. One of, if not the best sandwich I've had in stl. The fries were piping hot and they have my favorite chips EVER, French onion sun chips! I can't find them anywhere else in stl. Needless to say I will be back and because of the service decided to change my review from 3 stars to 5. They deserve it! Thanks for a great lunch experience!!!!

Good food for a good price. Gross ranch though, I don't recommend it. Fast but not friendly, employees seem to either hate their job, or the clientele. Wouldn't hurt to smile occasionally to make the experience more enjoyable. If it's that hard to at least pretend you like your job you shouldn't be in...

Eh. First time customer. Waited about 25 minutes for my order. It actually only took about 5 minutes to make my sandwhich but they were definitely under staffed. No one said hello or even smiled the whole time. They dont have exhaust fans in the kitxhen and the whole dining area was filled with smoke and now i smell like grease..Sandwhich was pretty good though, ordered the Italian supreme half. And it was 5.55 total, not bad. Menu seemed pretty extensive.. all in all the food was good price was good but the experience was bad. 3 stars

Decided to come back a d try it again, like I said the food and price were good.. this time was a much better experience. They didn't seem very busy when i walked in. From the time I walked in to when I got my food was about 5 minutes. . The sandwhich actually tasted better this time, the service was perfect and the restaurant was cleaner also. Wonderful family owned sandwich shop in St. Louis. They have a large variety of options to choose from and I haven't tried anything there that wasn't fantastic. They have sandwiches, salads, nachos, chili, wraps and more. I do almost always get the same thing, the Chicken Pepperoni Parmesan sandwich with a little exta marinara sauce, but the few times I have chosen something different, it was still good. I really feel that they have high quality, fresh ingredients. They are certainly hard workers. The lady who takes care of walk in customers is always a pleasure to talk to and is very diligent. Even though they are usually super busy at lunch time, it has always been worth the wait. The wait has never been too bad for me, but I know that they also take orders over the phone, if you don't want to wait. So happy that such a great place is so close to...
