Bf and I visited here on a Sunday evening. Bf's chicken wings appetizer were meaty with a wonderful Old Bay and honey seasoning. Two thumbs up! He also ordered the prime rib flatbread, which he really liked. His dessert.was a huge, airy waffle with ice cream and chocolate sauce. Dessert fan that he is, he was in heaven and ate every bite. I ordered the crab soup, which was honestly the #1 best crab soup I've ever eaten in my life (and I've eaten loads of crab soup in my time, so I know what I'm talking about here...). The soup was creamy and super-flavorful. My only regret is that I didn't think to take some "to go" --- I'm kicking myself for not thinking to do that! Our waitress was friendly, efficient, and made us feel really welcome at the tavern, so that added to our pleasant experience. And we were so happy to have the opportunity to chat with the wonderful, friendly, and very talented head chef --- he was stopping by customers' tables to check in and make sure everyone was happy. Judging from the smiles of the other customers at the tavern, they seemed just as glad as we were to be there. I would highly recommend a visit to the tavern --- when we're in the area in the future, we'll...
Read moreThis was a great way to end the night in St. Michael’s. When we first arrived, it was a bit noisy but as the bar cleared out the noise went down drastically. We started off with shishito peppers which were great, followed by a massive freshly made pretzel with beer cheese sauce. This was so good that we made sure to get an extra cheese sauce when we took the rest of the pretzel to go. For dinner, I got the prime rib cooked medium rare which tasted great and came with an au-jus sauce and mashed potatoes and asparagus. One thing I must note was that the asparagus wasn’t stringy and was cooked well. We also got the oyster po boy which was great, but lacking a sauce which was no big deal. We also got the crab cakes which were good and you could tell they were made fresh. If you’re looking for a good place for dinner,...
Read moreMy Pops and I were in search of a low key dinner and thought we’d try out Talbot St Tavern. We went in fairly early (4pm on a Thursday) and were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and sat at the bar. They have quite a good selection of beers on tap and we both ordered the Crab Chowder and side Caesar salads. We caught some football and chatted as the place slowly got busier. In the past restaurants occupying this location, we were turned off by the loudness of the dining area; but it didn’t seem to be an issue anymore. Our bartenders were personable and attentive. The chowder was amazing—and that’s saying something coming from a self-proclaimed foodie that grew up in...
