We anticipated this dinner for close to a week, and tonight we got to do some sampling. We started off with two appetizers, the truffle fries and bacon wrapped dates! Both were excellent choices! The are not stingy on portion or truffle oil! Alcoholic Drinks go... Truffle Pig has to have one of the best wine lists in Steamboat!?! I see Caymus by the glass... I mean come on! My son got one of their signature cocktails called “night moves” which is their take on a Manhattan. My son said it was the best cocktail in Steamboat! For dinner, I ordered the Sea-bass, it was cooked to perfection and prepared with a nice combination of veggies and starches! On a scale from 1-10.. I’d rate the Sea-bass a solid 9 if not a 10! My son ordered the pork chop.. it was a very unique dish and there wasn’t any left! Portion size was great, and the pork was cooked to absolute perfection! Wife ordered the the wild mushroom risotto, this is a very rich plate.. so delicious! I paired a sample of the risotto with my Sea-bass, I think a small serving of the risotto could be a great side to the Sea-bass.. :) it was delicious and it complimented the fish to that level 10 mark! Service Whoever owns this establishment knows the definition of service! Superb job by the staff.. let your water glass never run low.. everything on the table was scrutinized and refilled accordingly.

I had an absolutely phenomenal experience at Truffle Pig in Steamboat Springs, and it’s hands-down a 5-star spot! Nestled right at the base of the ski area, the location is unbeatable—perfect for a post-slope meal or a cozy evening out. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between upscale and welcoming, with stunning views of Mount Werner and a lively patio that’s ideal for soaking in the mountain vibes. The food was nothing short of spectacular. I tried the Truffle Pig Bacon Burger, and it might just be the best burger I’ve ever had—juicy Kobe beef, aged cheddar, and those famous truffle fries that live up to the hype with their crispy, flavorful perfection. The Mussels and Fries were another highlight, served in a cast-iron pot with a garlicky white wine sauce that I couldn’t get enough of. And the Baby Beet Salad? Fresh, vibrant, and beautifully balanced—a total treat for the senses. The service was top-notch, with staff who were attentive, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. The cocktail menu is a standout too—creative and expertly crafted, with options like the Battle of the Agaves that paired perfectly with the meal. Truffle Pig nails every detail, from the farm-to-table ingredients to the warm, inviting vibe. It’s a must-visit in Steamboat Springs—I’m already looking forward to my next trip back!

Truffle pig was hands down the best restaurant we went to in Steamboat, from the food and drinks to the amazing staff, I definitely recommend! The first night we spilt the charcuterie board which was not only delicious but very generously portioned. My partner had the pork chop which was perfectly cooked, mashed potatoes were Devine! I had the mushroom ravioli, the cream sauce was silky yet rich and you could really taste the wild mushrooms. We split the key lime tart for dessert and it was off the charts, tastes just as amazing as it looks! We sat at the bar and Cassidy took such good care of us, he even remembered my drink of choice the next time we came in! Don’t miss out on The Highlander, they smoke the glass right in front of you and the process is so much fun to watch! The next day we went for a late lunch after a fantastic day on the Mountian. We both had their burger and it was unbelievable; juicy, flavorful, cooked to a perfect medium rare and came with the signature truffle fries. Lunch did not disappoint! Love how the staff make you feel at home, it’s fine dining without the fuss. You can come in fresh off the Mountian and no one bats an eye, the cocktails are made with such care watching the mixologists do their magic is a treat! Truffle pig is a must and we’ll be back next season!

We had a disappointing experience all around. Despite numerous tables being available upon walking in, it took over ten minutes to be seated. We ordered 4 burgers and upgraded 3 sides of fries to truffle fries. We only received 2 sides of truffle fries. Upon pointing it out to a staff member, he insisted that the order was correct, which it wasn’t as we were billed for 3 sets of truffle fries. After two conversations, they eventually brought out a side of truffle fries that was significantly smaller than the others. Additionally, two burgers came out about ten minutes before the other two burgers came out of the kitchen. When asking the waitress about this mistake, she stated that the food runners were new and made a mistake. However, it is ultimately the waiters responsibility to ensure their table is taken care of. To make this right, the waitress comped two beers which appeared to be $16 off the tab, but the beers were listed on the receipt at full price of $8 each when it was actually Aprés pricing so each beer was only $3.50. So if the beers were comped at the correct price, that only saved us $7 on a $168 tab before tip. It was almost $200 with tip for 4 mediocre burgers with fries (3 upgraded to truffle fries —which are incredible!), a cup of soup, and some really terrible service from the second we stepped in the door. In summary, we expect a lot better from a restaurant at the base of Steamboat.

Update: I’m quite surprised by this response from the restaurant. Why is it that you feel you need to defend yourselves so strongly? I think the restaurant’s attempt to assault my character when I simply wrote a review of objective observations regarding our visit speaks magnitudes. I was merely attempting to provide constructive feedback for the restaurant (which clearly they couldn’t have possibly done anything wrong from their perspective) and a fair warning for future patrons.

We were very well mannered and even tipped $20 on a $168 bill which we didn’t think was earned. My parents worked as a pizza chef and a waitress for a decade each and have the utmost respect for restaurant workers. We felt that this establishment was poorly run from the host stand to the kitchen to the wait staff.

I can promise you that if you check your receipts, the two beers were rung up at full price, not apres price, and then comped stating “guest satisfaction” as the reason why. I suggest you check your facts before you defend yourselves so strongly. If Apres dining means it is a laid back and casual dining experience, then why do you blame us for not having a reservation? Most patrons in your establishment at that time of day still had their ski boots on and I would be quite surprised if they were paying close enough attention to the time while they were skiing to make their reservation promptly. If Apres dining means that entrees come out for a party of only 5 (not 6+ as you stated in your reply which calls into question your attention to detail as you reviewed video and “audio” of our dining experience), then might I suggest you inform guests of this! Additionally, the two warmest burgers actually came out first, ordered as medium and medium well. The second two burgers came out ten minutes later as another medium and a medium rare. The one burger that came out last actually gave my youngest brother food poisoning that ruined the last day of his vacation.

Every other dining experience that we had while in steamboat both at the base and downtown was delightful! I would make this place my last...

“Dined” in on Christmas Eve as a table of 6. Prices were overpriced, but it is what it is, given it’s a resort restaurant. We waited 50+ minutes for food that never came out.

At the 25 minute mark, the waitress said food was coming “real soon”. I’m really not sure why she would say that when clearly she had no idea when food was coming. We watched tables who came in after us get their food left and right. It’s obvious they missed the mark and were too cowardly to admit it.

Finally we asked to talk to the manager, who had a wonderful RBF. The guy is probably pissed he has to work Christmas Eve and wanted to take it out on customers. Zero explanation or even apology. He said he’d “do dessert or something” for us, but honestly, we probably would have had to wait 50 minutes for that too.

There are better, cheaper, options where you dont have to cater to attitude from servers. Skip!

EDIT: I can’t seem to reply to the Owner’s reply below, so I’ll edit my review here for clarity’s sake for all future folks who want the full story!

We weren’t staying above the restaurant, so clearly you’ve mistaken our party for another - possibly another angry party(?) Two does seem to be a pattern though

The lack of a reservation seems irrelevant here. Yes, I freely admit we didn’t have one and we called in last minute, but that shouldn’t change your service, unless you’re freely admitting you purposefully treat walk ins more poorly than “esteemed reservations”.

We did order apps, specifically Truffle Pig Fries, the “special”, although I suppose it’s not a surprise you forgot our order (again, I might add), and yes, we were very very confused why overpriced fries would take 50 minutes!

The food did not “finally arrive”. When we left, there was still no food to be found. Again, please show the CCTV if you would like! Although it’s probably best you don’t or you might embarrass yourself, unless of course, the CCTV shows you running out the kitchen with the food after we’d already left, which would make for a good laugh at least.

I’m not sure what we “walked out on” when no food was delivered! It’s not as if we ate your food and left. We just couldn’t trust your manager’s word that it was “coming soon” an hour in. In fact, the only thing we did get was a glass of diet coke in 50 minutes! I freely admit and take responsibility for this as we forgot about this when we left as we were too upset by the clearly poor and unprofessional service we received. Please feel free to post your venmo below, and I’ll venmo you the market price of your 15 cent diet coke, or I can airmail you a check if you prefer!

Anyways, this is the first time an owner has responded to a review of mine with clearly fake statements. If this is how they run their Google reviews, it’s probably best to stay...

The food was good. But the service was terrible. We arrived 15 min early for our reservation and were taken right away. But it went downhill from there. It took 15 min for the server to come take our drink order. She then disappeared and didn’t come back for nearly 20 min. She came back and said she didn’t know why our drinks were taking so long but asked if we wanted to order. After being there for over a half hour staring at the menu I said no we are not ready to order. I politely explained I am GF and DF and since the menu isn’t marked I don’t know what I can eat or what can be modified (my rez also said GF DF on it but not sure why there’s a notes section if it’s ignored). I told her what I was interested in and asked for her assistance on picking menu items but the Server was little help. She just stared at the menu without saying anything. So I just kept making suggestions until I found the path of least resistance on modifications and I said I will have the tuna and the duck even though there were other things I would have rather had if anyone was at all helpful in suggesting modifications. At this price point I should expect at least that much help. And if its too much burden on the servers to assist with dietary restrictions, the menus should be marked with dietary symbols and modification options. our drinks were delivered by the bartender about a half hour after ordering them. Our appetizers came in about 20 min. We then waited FOREVER for our entrees. We didn’t get our entrees until nearly 2 hours after arriving. It wasn’t because we were taking our time either. We initially thought it was because they were so busy, but by 9:30 everybody else in the restaurant were done eating (including people that had arrived and ordered after us). We were completely perplexed why it was taking so long! Why did it take over an hour to get our entree after our appetizers??? Meanwhile the server was chatting up other tables.Never bothered to check in with us to explain why it’s taking so long. Never even came by so we could order more drinks. Our drinks had been empty for about 1.5 hours until we left. The duck was good but not great (Ive had better duck in Steamboat). And it was small and not much meat. The tuna crudo was very nice. But I left hungry after spending over $75. My BF said it was the best burger he’s had in a long time but probably would not come back just based on the terrible unhelpful and unapologetic service. Compliments to the chef. But that’s where the...
