Going to give a completely honest review. Food is good but the service is god awful. Restaurant does not close until 9pm but they like to lock the doors at 8pm. Placed a to-go order at 7:45 and walked down at 8:05 to pick it up and the doors were locked after a few minutes of knocking and being ignored by numerous waitresses the MANAGER opened the door for us a few minutes later. We are staying at this resort for over a week and figured it was just a bad night so tried it again a couple nights later because again the food is good but ran into the same issue. Called five times to place an order and no one answered the phone so we decided to walk down and to our surprise the entire staff was just hanging around. While standing at the bar waiting to place an order we decided to call the restaurant and witnessed numerous waitresses walk past the phone without answering. It seems like no one here wants to work. We spoke to the manager on shift just to notify him of the service issue and he honestly seemed to care less. Take your money somewhere else. Plenty of other good places to eat! We stay at the Sheraton above this restaurant every year and we will not be...
Read moreThis place is an embarrassment for Steamboat Resort. We have been here twice now. The first time, service was slow and inattentive. Our fish and chips came out burned, and the server never checked back. She walked by a few times but never made eye contact or asked if everything was ok. Finally my husband walked up to the host stand to find a manager and they made new ones. They didn’t take anything off our bill, not even a beer. Also we mentioned to the waitress that it was sons 5th birthday and they didn’t do anything or even bring us a dessert menu to order something for him. $100 for a truly mediocre lunch. The second time we waited at the bar for 20 minutes and the bartender never came over, so we left. He served people at the service well while ignoring everyone at the bar, not even looking over to see that everyone was empty. I don’t know if it was his first day bartending, but as a former bartender, it was hard to watch his inefficiency. Hopefully they get their act together before busy season and Christmas. For the main restaurant at the base, this place needs some more experienced servers and bartenders. It’s too expensive for terrible service. We...
Read moreAmong the restaurants available at the base of the mountain, this is definitely one of the best. Its prices are about the same as the rest but the quality is far better than most. My only caveat to that is that the quality can sometimes dip if the restaurant is swamped. We went in on a Friday at 11 AM and the place was practically dead. Our server was the most friendly and energetic one I've ever had, and the food was amazing. We had burgers and lobster rolls which we devoured both from hunger and tastiness. We went back again on a Sunday at 1 PM to find the place packed. The wait was relatively short, but our server was so overwhelmed that she wasn't able to get to our table to take a drink order for 5-7 minutes after we'd been seated. That being said, a hostess stopped by with water and apologized for the wait. The food was also a bit less impressive than the Friday (some people ordered the same food, and it wasn't the same level), but it was still far better than other nearby options. We'll definitely make this a regular stop for future trips.
Also, not every restaurant at the base does an ikon pass discount,...
