On our recent trip I thought we should treat ourselves by splurging and staying in a fancy hotel. I wish I could leave a better review. Since I almost never feel like I need to leave anything but excellent reviews for places we have been. But we were very disappointed in our stay here. The room was ok, the bed was comfortable, the bathtub was deep and the soap smelled good. But I very specifically requested a room in the top of the building. Instead we were put in a room on the lowest floor with rooms. We wanted a good view, did not get one. The patio door did not have a screen on it. We noticed that right away and went back to the front desk to see if we could be move. They told us that none of the patio doors have screens. That seems crazy to me! Why have patio doors if they don't have screens on them? Sadly I specifically booked a more expensive room so that we could have a better view and have a patio door. So that we could sleep with the patio door open. Since there was no screen we could not even enjoy the fresh mountain air. If we would have left the door open the Magpies that were on the roof of the bar right below us could have easily gotten into our room. Be aware if you have a car with you that you will have to pay an extra fee to park it on the property. Another thing that I did not know. If it states that on their site, then I overlooked that. Another reason we stayed here was to do laundry. At least the stack unit washer and dryer worked. Although the washer seemed rather off balance. Between loads I had to keep pushing it further back in the closet it was in. Because it was walking it's self forward. Not to mention with it running like that, it was incredibly noisy and we had 6 loads of laundry to do. Additionally they do not offer anything for food in with what you pay. (Unlike other chains). Honestly we would have been way better off staying in a less expensive hotel. I doubt we will use this chain again unless they are the only thing available in a town that we would have to stay in. Sorry. But this place can't improve on what they give their customers without being aware of the areas that they are lacking in. Will NOT be back. Not worth the money you are...

On Tuesday, December 26th after driving for over 3 hours from my home in Denver, I was greeted with the worst customer service I have ever experienced by your bar staff and on-site customer service staff. I had just checked in and decided to relax myself by going to the bar while I waited for my partner to arrive. The holidays are a difficult time for me as I’ve recently lost several family members so I wasn’t as energetic as the other patrons in town for the holidays. Apparently that offended the bartender because as soon as I sat down he was extremely aggravated. He decided to ask me what was wrong (while I was wondering that about him) and I simply said “It kind of seems like you don’t want to serve me”.

This prompted him to snatch the drink out of my hand and loudly announce “I can’t serve you at this point. I want you to leave.” I was clearly perplexed since this has never happened to me. I asked him why he felt that way and he ignored me. I had to ask him a few more times until he said “You’re slow to answer.” (Not true).

I asked him to call the manager (Maizy) over because I found it to be odd and he wasn’t answering my questions.I explained to her that despite me being completely respectful and in no way hostile, the bartender decided to unrightfully refuse me service (after pouring my first drink of the night).

Instead of coming to some common ground like adults should or apologizing for the way I was treated like a normal human being would, your “higher up” staff member decided to belittle me by saying, “It looks like you’re about to cry. Clearly this is emotional for you.” with a creepy smile on her face, completely unprovoked. ???? Even if I was about to cry, it’s not professional to make fun of a customer for being rightfully embarrassed.

Usually the Marriott is a place of respite for me and my family but I can no longer support the Marriott brand due to the ignorance I experienced at your property. I suggest that you train your employees on how to treat others. I had to leave the reservation early because I felt so uneasy.

I recommend the steamboat grand if you...

I had a 10 day stay in an 'upgraded' studio with a mountain view. These rooms are lock-offs where it has an adjoining room. The first 5 days we were woken up by 7AM with cartoons from the next room and kids being kids. Knowing we had an extended stay we expected them to leave so we dealt with it. After they left we received new neighbors who liked to prepare breakfast very loudly at 6AM. We could hear the clanging of them stirring their coffee clearly through the door along with their morning conversations. It was impossible to get a good night sleep.||At this point I requested a room change, even taking a downgrade to a regular studio. This was refused because the computer does not allow downgrades between room types, and the only solution offered was to either put in a noise complaint or have engineering come and put rolled up towels in between the lock off door.||I ended up escalating the issue and leaving a voicemail for the general manager who never called me back. Ultimately we ended up leaving the room vacant for the last few days of our stay and getting lodging elsewhere.||Short list of additional issues besides the thin walls:|- Alarm clock was not reset by housekeeping so woke us up at 5:30AM first day|- Room was unable to maintain steady temperature as set on thermostat|- Shower was backed up with water first day, had engineering come to fix|- Shower handle fell off the wall, had engineering come and fix|- Sliding deck door was not able to latchlock|- Only half of toaster worked||I also gave a poor rating in the automated email asking about my stay which resulted in Kenzie reaching out, but just like the replies here, that is performative. I responded to her email with my issues and never heard back. Not surprised at all with how this resort handles customer service.||Unfortunately I have an encore package I have to use here so will most likely return as to not waste it. I can only hope for better neighbors as there is zero customer service at...

This is perhaps THE most disappointing experience as timeshare owners. This property is in an amazing location for winter skiing, but is old and dated. As heritage Starwood for many years, we have been to many Westin and Sheraton properties, often returning, but we will not return here. The lobby, parking entry, elevator area, and hallways feel like a government office building. Our room was so small and narrow that even my husband complained about it. Most annoyingly, as loyal players in the timeshare game, with lots of unused points, we were shocked when we complained about the tiny room with no terrace and asked to upgrade using points, we got a hard no. We did not enjoy our 5 nights here because we could not sleep while the other wanted to read or watch tv. This property only had studios and 2 bedrooms available to timeshare owners, and the studios are small with no terrace, so beware the property is not comparable to others in the chain. No amount of points and despite it being off season and place is empty, could get them to move us to a better room. And we could see many rooms were indeed still available online. We could look up at all the unused terraces from the pool with the chairs perfectly positioned and could tell oh so many rooms were empty while we crammed into this tiny space. I cannot fathom in the first place why they would give such devotees to the Marriott Bonvoy brand the worst room in the place with views of the roof and no terrace? To be more clear, as timeshare swappers, the Marriot website does not offer the options of “balcony” or “mountain view” as does if you switch tabs to booking for cash, so let this be a warning that this property will stick you in the worst room if they can and they do! Meanwhile the pool and hot tub areas were quite nice, though in need of umbrellas.
