We came here on a Saturday evening after checking into the Sheraton next door, and were looking for something easy with the kids after a long day of travel. It was a beautiful, sunny evening, and the place was very busy as people were enjoying the nice weather. You have to go inside and place your order at the bar, and then have it delivered to you at your seat. Given all the tables were filled, we had to sit adjacent to the seating area on a few rocks which were right outside the door to the restaurant. The server who took my order said this would be ok, and we made sure to sit by the door to watch for our food to come out. After 45 minutes of waiting, we went inside to check on the order, only to find it sitting in the service window under a hot lamp. The runner was very defensive and rude when we asked how long it had been there, stating that she "came out multiple times calling your (our) name, and I don't have time to track you down" (not true as we purposely waited right by the door to make sure we didn't miss her). The two stars are purely for the food, which is good. The drinks are mediocre at best, and the substandard service seems to be strained to say the least- it's understandable if the restaurant is busy, but a little kindness and effort go...
Read moreI actually liked the food at this place so much that I came back again the next night (at the same time as the previous night) only to be told that they closed the kitchen early...so no food for me and my family. I worked in kitchens and hospitality for 20 + years and never once would have dreamed of telling a customer this. If it's slow you start cleaning up, change over containers, get provisions set to order, prep for the next day but stay ready until the end of business, and if an order comes in- you make it with the same pride as it was the 1st order of the day rather then sending hungry customers who cane back again for more. There were 5 guys in the open kitchen that I could see but they cant make 4 Tacos and pour couple of beers to collect another 30% gratuity and 80% profit like they got from me the day before 20 minutes before their posted closing time? Luckily their neighbors at Slopeside Bar and Grill were happy to take my money. Also for the record- NO SOAP in the bathroom, after looking at some reviews below, maybe I'm lucky I wasnt served by this crew of cooks with no soap to wash with after they relive themselves. Seems like it's time for the food inspector to...
Read moreWe had a really great experience at Los Locos in Steamboat, CO! The food was absolutely amazing—flavorful, fresh, and perfectly prepared. Everyone in our group was impressed with their dishes, and we especially loved the vibrant flavors and generous portions. I ordered tacos - Birria, mahi mahi and chicken. They were fantastic. I also tried the chicken enchiladas and that was delicious. The only downside was that one of our orders came out much later than everyone else’s, and we had to remind the staff that we were missing it. While the food was worth the wait, it did cause a bit of an inconvenience. Additionally, the seating is quite limited, so I wish there was more space for guests. That said, the overall experience was positive, and we’ll definitely return for the fantastic food and great service....
