It is not your typical slope side food of hamburgers, fries, or a small bowl of chili that cost you an arm and a leg. What a gem and it is on the slopes! One of the few restaurants I have found skiing at many resorts that offer really good food for a reasonable price.
We got there in between the end of the breakfast crowd and the beginning of the lunch crowd so it was a bit crowded, but it thinned out quickly. By the time we left though, there was limited seating again.
They do offer breakfast all day, along with lunch. Of course they have burgers and fries but I would highly recommend trying one of their sandwiches or salads or soups. The serving sizes are huge so sharing is a great option. We ordered their chicken pesto sandwich, their steak breakfast sandwich, a large order of fries and a hot chai tea. All I can say is yum yum yum! My daughter could not finish her steak breakfast sandwich so I took half back to the room along with more than half the fries. Both which became yummy after ski snacks.
When we go back to Steamboat this will definitely be a lunch...
Read moreOn the plus side, the fries were good. On the down side, I have a dairy allergy and have to be extremely careful eating at restaurants. The person taking my order took offense to my insistence on seeing the wine label so I could check whether or not it was fined with casein. She finally showed it to me and it is a safe wine for me. I also asked if the bread had dairy and she assured me that it didn't. Since I didn't want to offend her further, I took her word for it. However, thanks to the tone and volume of her voice demanding that I trust her, every staff person was giving me dagger eyes by the time I finished ordering. This was the only meal I ate that day and by the time I got ready for bed, I was beginning to have a reaction. I'm certain that my meal was contaminated with dairy and I suspect that it was intentional. Right now, it's been almost twenty-four hours and I'm still sick. Thanks for ruining...
Read moreSteer far clear of this place. The food is dismal and overpriced. The coffee is super bad. The avocado toast is $9 and is basically wonder bread with some sort of avocado paste. The Biscuits and Gravy ($8) was doughy, undercooked, bland, and pasty. All 3 people in the back as well as a local visitor had their masks around their chin while cooking and chatting and I mentioned it to the person at the front count, who disagreed with me and said “they’re wearing masks”. Technically true, but kinda lame thing to argue.
The dude who made the coffee was nice but has no idea what he was doing. He didn’t even tamp the espresso shot before pulling it and they clearly don’t clean their steam wand which can build up some really gross bacteria. It was honestly undrinkable. I wish I hadn’t overtipped these guys and I hope they take my feedback to heart. This place has a ton of potential if they just fix,...
