Went to the lumberjack for a 2pm-3pm axe throwing session for a bachelorette party. Our axe instructor, Pavvo, was great! Drinks were good as well.
However, customer service was poor from other staff. We arrived at 1:52 for a 2pm reservation. Us and everyone else who was arriving for their reservation was told multiple times "we don't open until 2". I understand the first axe throwing slot is at 2, but maybe consider opening at 1:45 so the 2pm reservations can begin on time?
Once we got our lane, we were given three chairs for nine people. Our reservation went until 3. At 2:35, we were told we had 15 minutes left. At 2:50, they told the bride our time was up and we needed to leave the area for the next group. We had paid for an hour long, 2pm-3pm reservation, so the fact that they (tried) to have us leave early was frustrating. It's not as though we were being loud, obscene, or obnoxious either. Once we got the bill, there was about a 20% gratuity added on to not only the cost of drinks, but also the cost of axe throwing.
Overall we had fun with the actual axe throwing, but would not recommend the lumberjack to others due to the lack of customer service and the "we don't need your business" attitude...
Read moreSo many thanks for Andy and the Lumberjack team for the unique experience, wonderful food, and energizing atmosphere.
I came here to see my good friend Lucy of Lucy and the Seraphim play a short set, unaware the venue and therefore without expectations.
Right from the moment I entered, I felt welcomed and at home. I was greeted quickly by Andy, our server, who promptly and politely brought us drinks and took our food order, providing superb service and friendly conversation throughout.
I ordered the Secret Garden sandwich, as well as the Tomato Soup, which arrived just after the set, with perfect timing so we could all enjoy our meals and watch the next performance.
The sandwich was beautifully prepared and presented, the ingredients fresh, flavorful, and arranged so as to provide the perfect combination and balance of textures.
The soup surprised me, both in the generous serving and presentation, paired with toasted ends for dipping. I finished every drop, savoring each.
Overall, this was a fun place to visit for a show and meal, and outside of an event, would make a great destination for a night out, a gathering, or just a visit for...
Read moreRead moreWould recommend for axe throwing, but not for hanging out. Axe throwing was pretty fun and our coach was really cool. After the axes, our group wanted to move to a table but was only a small table open. Some people were blocking the seats at a nearby table which is annoying, but understandable because there is not that much seating and people know it. On top not having a useable table, we were surprised and annoyed by the $10 cake fee. There was confusion if we had already paid for it or not, but you'd think after spending a few hundred dollars on axe throwing there wouldn't be a need to nickel-dime. Looking on the website this morning, it sounds like we should have been able to pay $20 each instead of 25 because we were 10 people. Also the FAQ says store-bought cake is allowed, but it doesn't mention the cake fee. Very unimpressed with about lack of clarity and poor handling of billing. Clear expectations about the limited seating would have also helped us plan better. The music and environment was...
