We recently visited Hudson for vacation and made a little trip up to Stillwater to check out Teddy Bear Park—what a gem! Even though it was super hot and we couldn’t stay as long as we wanted, the kids had an absolute blast!
The play equipment is so creative and fun, with something for every age. As a mom of an autistic child who loves to run, I really appreciated that the entire park is fenced in—it made a huge difference for peace of mind. I even found myself climbing around and playing too. It’s that fun!
The cliff face built into the design is so cool and unique. My older kid was all about the nature-themed playset, while my little one couldn’t get enough of the train. And of course, the giant and small teddy bear statues are the perfect photo op—we got some adorable pictures!
There’s also convenient parking right across the street, and my parents were big fans of the shaded bench area (though nothing totally beats the heat when it’s almost 90!).
We may have missed them, but we didn’t see any bathrooms—our only tiny complaint. Still, this park is amazing and totally worth the visit. We’re already talking about coming back when it’s cooler to spend more...
Read moreA truly unique playground. Most of the play structures are geared toward toddlers (2 to 5ish), but there is also a larger tree/bridge structure for older kids. Lovely views, multiple large sandbox areas, picnic tables and public restrooms. Indoor facility available for rent. No swings, in case that matters to you. We love bringing the kids here on hot summer days and then walking down the hill to get malts at Leo's.
My only complaints are that they're only open seasonally (closed October thru April-ish) and on nice summer days, it gets REALLY crowded (especially weekends). Parking is either on the street or in the lot across the street, both of which often fill up.
One other thing: the signs say to stay off the bear sculptures, but nobody, and I do mean nobody, complies. So...
Read moreCute park! My son liked climbing on the rocks. It was a busy day, lots of families taking pictures everywhere. The bear statues are a huge hit. Wooden play structures for big and small and a sand play area in front if the natural limestone wall. There is a covered gazebo that offers shade and a very large wooden rental facility that resembles an old school that can be reserved for private events. They also use astro turf and a soft rubber like material for a lot of the ground covering. It keeps things clean and safe. There is only one entrance in and out, which makes for easy supervision. On nice days, parking can be tight so we drove around a couple times. Definitely worth the drive....
