There are many things I enjoy about Detroit style pizza. Specifically, the light crust, the crispy cheese edges, and the golden buttery brown bottom of the crust. They nailed the execution on their dough recipe and hit all the key points one would expect with this style of dough. It could have possibly been just a tad bit fluffier, but I haven't had enough Detroit style pizza to actually gauge this. My advice would be to go for a pizza with a different sauce or toppings such as the melt margarita or the guy firey which is what the person I went with ordered.

I ordered the cheese pizza and the red sauce needed more oomph! If you got a pizza with toppings, this probably wouldn't have been much of an issue. However, the sauce was fairly basic, and I found myself needing more flavor. The oregano on top was distinctive, but I could've done without it. It could have used more sauce as well. I know with this style, the sauce is spooned across the top and there isn't always much sauce. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if they would give you more sauce if you asked for it. Luckily, the bartender saved the day when he had asked if I wanted to try a cup of their vodka sauce. I figured why not give it a shot and see what happens. This was a bit of a game changer and it drastically changed the difference in flavors which is what I was looking for. On top of being more flavorful, it also helped fill the void with more sauce.

We also ordered their filipino adobo wings which were sweet and tangy. They weren't spicey which was nice since I am not a fan of the heat. The quality of the wings was a little mixed but they were still meaty and tender. Overall, most of my critiques came down to personal preferences. I think the only thing that could actually improve would be to develop some more flavors in...

Everyone, if you’re looking for a cool event space with AMAZING food, drinks and service, and a beautiful view of the St. Croix River in a private but spacious upstairs event space, look no further!! We had our baby shower here 2 weekends ago, and Chef Anthony made sure that each detail was executed to perfection. Every single item of our catered menu was made fresh and tasted just as spectacularly as when we’d gone to Melt before with a smaller group! The portions were extremely generous, and we were lucky enough to have plenty of leftovers to enjoy after the event!!

The garlic bread, Caesar salad (made both in the original and a special Gluten-free preparation for 1 guest), Thai Brussel sprouts, and meatballs were all crowd pleasers, as were the 5 types of NY-style and original deep dish we served!! Truly so sooo good. The spicy vodka rigatoni was also perfection!! Chef Anthony made sure the kids meals came out quick before any of our little guests had meltdowns! ;)

We had our own bartender who made the most delicious custom cocktails (and mocktails!) for our guests. We were also able to control the music using a tablet provided, and the seating space allowed for both mingling and plenty of space for dinner! This restaurant should be at the top of Stillwater event lists!! Perfect ambiance, delicious food, very reasonable price point for the food/drink portions and quality, and great service that made sure we were always cared for when questions or special requests came up!! Highly highly recommend for dining (in general), and hosting events!!

Sending all our best to Chef Anthony and the Melt team for helping us host such a...

I've been hearing about this Detroit style pizza pop-up for a while and finally tried it.

Mondays and Tuesdays located inside of Pedro del Este in Hudson. Some weekends they're at Barrel Theory in Lowertown St Paul If ordering ahead for carry out, use the Tock app

There is a parking lot in the back if you turn into the driveway just past Pedro's. I had no trouble finding a spot on an early Monday evening. I ordered a pick up for 5pm and the website says to allow a few extra minutes to get the pizza boxed up. There was a glitch in their computer system so I ended up waiting about 20 minutes but they threw in a gigantic and amazing chocolate chip cookie for the inconvenience. I get it--things happen! Great customer care.

The pizza itself is simply delicious. Generously topped with fresh ingredients. This is a dryer pizza, next time I might ask for extra sauce because that's my usual order for all pizza but as it comes you're more likely to taste the delicious crust and cheese.

Very filling and huge portions. If you're a fan of thicker crust, definitely check this place out. I saw a bowl of vodka sauce rigatoni being served to another table, it...

New location for this business, only been open a week so I am assuming things will improve in the future. Detroit style pizza is one of my favorite styles so I've been looking forward to trying this for a couple of months. Overall this was an average pizza. I always get just a pepperoni as a measuring stick when trying a place for the first time. The sauce was light and sweet and the pepperoni was just on the spicy side. The crust was OK, a little dense for Detroit style but it did have a nice golden crunchy edge as is expected in this style. I was disappointed by the amount of cheese that was on it as it definitely didn't go edge to edge, stopping well before the backside of the slice. When I would take a bite the remaining cheese would slide off the slice. The menu is slightly different than before. If they bring back the Walter White I would return to try that one. Otherwise, there are too many places to explore. Quoted a 90 minute wait but only ended up being 20. No take out at this time and they don't currently take reservations or have an online wait list. Lots of unfinished space upstairs not sure if this will be additional seating in the future.
