I purchased an item for a birthday present that was $269 online at BJ’s in Stoneham because the item was in stock and I was going to pick it up. Prior to ordering I checked, and there were four of these items in stock. Upon purchasing the item online, I was charged a substitution fee, which was an additional $50 to allow for a substitution. I have never purchased an item online, or I was charged substitution fee when the item was in stock and readily available. This was deceptive. Shortly after I ordered the item it was canceled by BJ’s Because I failed to respond to A text. However, the $329 was immediately taken out of my account and the item was canceled. To add insult to injury when an item is canceled or when you return an item at BJ’s, it takes 5 to 7 business days before the money is credited back into your account. This equates to 10 calendar days. If you order something expensive, you will be out of the money. When you call BJ’s, everyone passes the buck, The managers on site, The general manager, And the company that BJ’s outsources to handle their customer complaints, which is outside the United States and clearly very cheap labor. Every buyer should be aware The BJ’s is quick to take your money and very slow to give it back while they control the process. Anytime we’ve ever returned something I have always gotten an immediate credit. BJ’s plays by a different...
Read moreDo Not get a membership here for gas, it is an absolute joke. They let the line back up all the way out the entrance. They force you into a single line for both drivers side and passenger side, meaning you have to watch 4 passengers pumps not be used at all while you wait 30 minutes in line. The manager of this store should be embarrassed for the incompetence on display here. For 3 days, the line has been so long, it takes 20 minutes just to get tot he normal parking lot for shopping. You have to wait in the gas line whether you are there for gas or not. And the manager here clearly does not care about your experience at all. Putting just a couple signs up to form two lines for the different pumps would resolve most of it. And on busy days or when pumps are down (which happens so often, makes you wonder about safety), all you would need is someone to direct people to pumps. Then they could form small lines behind the proper pump they need, and know where they are going. Right now it is a free for all which leads to obvious delays and longer lines. So either the manager has a room temp IQ and cant figure this out or they couldn't care even the smallest bit about your experience that you pay good money for. Either way, not a good look. Ya get what ya pay for I guess. I know I will be cancelling and switching to Costco. Save your time and money and just...
Read moreI had a very poor experience with one of the employees leaving BJ’s a few Sundays ago. I have a Steve Madden backpack I would say probably medium size , I don’t use pocketbooks I go into BJ’s quite a bit with my parents, my husband and my kids, to make a long story short we approached the gentleman I gave him my mother‘s receipt ,He seemed fine as we were walking out he yells out I need to see in your backpack (real nasty) I’m like excuse me ?! again very angry he says I need to see inside your backpack I’m like I don’t steal especially in front of my mother, I don’t steal period .he says It’s a policy and I’m like what a sucky policy. I quickly showed him inside my backpack, which obviously had nothing except my personal things I carry , my husband‘s like you showed him the receipt like you do ,by law you could’ve have said no it your personal bag he had no business saying it to begin with there was no call for it I’ve never had any employee even the police officers that stand there ask me to see my bag (Jacob my son) said he said it so nasty too like he was convicting me of something that just because I had a medium size backpack . BTW I would have gladly shown him with out hesitation if he had approached me in nice manner not in a such an accusing manner the way...
