The food and drinks are decent, but the service is in need of serious improvement. We've been here several times and usually the service is a bit slow and we never get water refills. But the last time we went, the staff made a huge error that was definitely a health code violation and was frankly appalling, though they didn't seem to realize it. I ordered a dish modified to have no mushrooms, but when it came out it had them - ok, this happens, I didn't want to make a stink so I figured I would try just picking around them. But when I ate a few bites, I found the food was cold. So I decided to send it back. The waitress apologized and said the order had gotten mixed up in the back, which again okay, it happens. Then after waiting for a new plate, the waitress placed a plate in front of me and walked away. When I looked down I realized it still had mushrooms in it, and then I realized it was the exact same plate I had already picked at and partly eaten. I was horrified that a dish sent back to the kitchen would make it out to a table again, even if it had been my own. When I explained this to the staff they seemed to think I was upset about the mushrooms, and didn't seem to understand how gross it is to send a partly eaten dish to a table. The dish was comped but even after this, the service was extremely slow and no effort was made to improve our experience. I'm not typically one to write a bad review, but because the staff didn't seem to understand what was wrong here I feel like it is warranted. In the very least I hope this can serve as a learning experience...

My mom and I were so excited to try this place because we’ve loved popovers since having them at the Jordan Pond House in Acadia National Park. The wait was around 20 minutes and there’s no room to wait inside. They do text you when the table is almost ready so you can walk around. My mom a popover with cheesy eggs, I got an eggs Benedict version. We also ordered a k pop to share. When our food arrived, it was completely cold. Not lukewarm or room temp, but cold. The cheese on my mom’s meal wasn’t even melted. My bacon and poached eggs seemed like they’d been sitting around. We asked our server to get a manager we could speak to. Our server didn’t seem pleased about it. The manager admitted they were having kitchen issues and offered to bring us something else. I took a new order of potatoes and some plain scrambled eggs because I was starving and we had other plans for the rest of the day. No one ever refilled our beverages. The table next to us received popovers that were steaming hot when they opened them so I don’t know what was going on. Serving eggs and breakfast meats that have been cooked and left to sit out seems dangerous from a food safety standpoint. And if the manager knew the kitchen was having issues, why wasn’t she doing some quality control? The one good thing is we weren’t charged for our meal and we didn’t need to ask for this to happen. It only makes sense because the food was not edible. I feel the cute space and innovative restaurant idea will get tourists in. I personally would not eat here again nor...

Soo I have eaten here twice and wish I wrote a review the first time because as soon as I walked in I was greeted with genuine beautiful smiling faces. The atmosphere is super chill and although very busy, relaxing at the same time. They are very attentive to the guests and the food is DELICIOUS! omg... I had a bowl something (can't think of the name ) and it was SO good... I went back this morning for another meal to try something different and sammeee thing..smiling faces, and the place was super busy! The owner Pam was killin' it in the kitchen and made me a magical meal made with love of course. Anyone who understands what actually goes into a good meal, will have patience and understand the restaurant industry is not an easy one to be in but they do phenomenal and make sure all is handled professionally and kindly. Sometimes people have to wait because things happen out of their control. Everyone is a welcomed guest and I am so glad Pam is there with her team kicking A$$! Even the people cleaning are super sweet! Thanks Pam and Co. I will be back with more peeps for sure! Delicious! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! :)...

Awesome food, fresh and fast. Service was swift, friendly, and accurate. 80s music unobtrusively playing in the background allowed for easy conversation. The highlight was the "Fall Harvest" popover, stuffed with butternut squash, mushrooms, peppers, onions, spinach, bound together with a generous amount of egg. No skimping here!! The popover itself was light and delicious. My companion's bagel with lox had herbed cream cheese, and just the right amount of red onion and capers. Iced tea was fresh and delicious, unlike a lot of off-season iced tea that has a funky taste. This was not that! Fresh and refreshing. Coffee, medium roast, was "delicious" according to those who had it. All in all a wonderful place to start your day here in Mystic! Four enthusiastic thumbs up!

Amazing Experience for a Celiac Family! Passing through Mystic while traveling and found PopOver Eatery through the celiac app we use as a vetted restaurant. They have a delicious brunch menu and everyone in our family found the food to be top notch! From a celiac viewpoint, all of the staff understand the need for gluten free and cross contamination concerns. They offer a very safe gluten free dining experience and we’re beyond accommodating with our family! I even heard our wait staff when talking to other tables and being mindful with all customers about asking for any allergy/dietary needs. The food was so yummy that the to go boxes we left with were eaten in the car!! Highly recommend to anyone and especially people who have food concerns.
