Did not have a great experience here today with my family of 4. Walked in to a near empty restaurant at 4:30 looking for relief from the heat and was greeted by nonexistent air conditioning and a hostess dead set on making life difficult for families with children. “No strollers in the restaurant” plastered everywhere as if people are going to leave $500+ strollers sitting outside unattended. I say sure it folds up and I’ll put it under my seat; the hostess stands in the aisle and rudely waits until it’s folded to leave. Lady after me comes in with two toddlers and a newborn and the hostess says the same thing to her- the poor lady had to explain to the hostess that she can’t hold the baby the entire time and needs the bassinet to be able to eat. Waitresses stood behind the bar gabbing with little care or attention paid to any tables. I ordered a beer and an unopened can was handed to me without asking if I wanted a glass. Food was decent but overpriced for the atmosphere and lack of service. Considering this place is right next to the aquarium I am surprised how unaccommodating it is to children and families.

RIP OFF. the absolute THINNEST pizza you've ever had... and that's just for starters lol. they hardly use any sauce OR ingredients! i ordered just a large cheese and it's basically cardboard with a few shreds of cheese on it. the WORST part was, it cost me $19! my wife ordered a SMALL new england clam pizza on gluten-free crust and it was $21 for the pizza + an extra $6 for the gluten-free crust = $27 for a SMALL pizza! as stated above, they hardly use any ingredients and we were mortified at the lack of clam or sauce on a $27 SMALL pizza! both pizzas were DRY (hardly any sauce) and unfulfilling (how would you be full off paper-thin crust and no cheese?) this is CLEARLY a case where they're selling you LESS for MORE because of where you are.. we brought some home and it's so THIN and DRY, the crust curled overnight in our fridge and was inedible the next day.. a $27 SMALL pizza, sparse of ingredients! im not sure why this place got good reviews? i left there feeling ripped off and totally unsatisfied.. pics speak for themselves

We went here while visiting Old Mystic Village for the day. Friends had told us to try this place, so figured we would give it a shot. We were seated by the hostess and started look at the menu. About 20 minutes had past before our waitress came over. By then we had decided what we wanted and our drinks. We ordered our drinks which was just sodas and waters. Nachos, a large pepperoni pizza and a large Margarita pizza. We weren’t expecting to get our drinks first but about 20 more minutes go by and nothing. Our waitress came out with our nachos. About 5 minutes later or food came out. I had to ask her if we could get our drinks even though all the food was already out on the table. My son and I decided to share a margarita pizza which usually is chunks of mozzarella, sauce, and basil leaves. This however was a cheese pizza with a handful of basil leaves thrown on top. Never seen a margarita pizza like that before. It was just pretty disappointing.

This is my first time writing out a review. I very much felt the need to leave this review cause of the quality of service and the food I received. I once very much enjoyed this place. I drive almost an hour to Mystic, and visit the village. Most of the time Mangos is where we go to eat. I ordered a Margherita pizza. The pizza arrived and it was just a plain cheese pizza with raw basil leaves on top. I thought my order was wrong, as I’ve never seen Margherita pizza served this way, with no mozzarella. This is not margherita with just basil leaves on regular cheese. Brought it to the waitress attention and she claims, this is how they have always done the pizza she says, I informed her I’ve been coming to Mangos for at least 8 years consistently and every time I order the margherita it has never came like this. She continued to tell me no, it was never made any other way this is how it’s always been made. She seemed like she was new on top of it, cause I’ve never seen her any other time. I even pulled up pictures on my phone with images of the Margherita with mozzarella like how it has been prepared in the past. She continues to deny that they ever made it that way, when I’m showing her images of the pizza with mozzarella from Mangos on the internet.. Come to find out from reading other reviews on the margherita pizza, the way it’s prepared had recently been changed to be made this way, so the waitress was indeed wrong. She told me she will get the manager to speak with us. She returned telling us she spoke with the owner and that’s the way it’s stated on the menu, and the manager was busy and couldn’t come to our table. After our complaint was made the waitress stopped coming by our table to check if we needed anything, (refills/napkins) which we did and tended to the tables around us multiple times up until the end when she brought us the check. We ended up boxing the entire margherita as we didnt touch not even a slice. The fact the owner or manager couldn’t even address our displeasure with our meal, and couldn’t take the time to even come to the table and speak with us shows a lot about the restaurant. I will not be returning and patronizing this establishment ever again. They lost me as a customer the way the situation was handled and the service I received from the waitress and management. I don’t know how anyone in management couldn’t of just addressed the fact the way it was made was changed and that was that. Not insist it’s always been that way, and state it’s written that way on menu. Also, the bacon pizza we got did not taste anything like what it once was, Cooks may have very...

The pizza was very good. Absolutely no complaints there. As for Literally everything else, It was one of the worst dine in experiences I've had.

Firstly, our waitress was either high as a kite, or a little slow. She forgot about us multiple times. Quite literally only came over to give us the food we ordered. With empty drinks for a good portion of the meal. She could be clearly seen on her phone behind the counter. It was busy in there but it was evident she was not. Any interactions we had with here were extremely short and rude. She didn't seem like she wanted to be there, or that she even wanted to be our server at that moment. Any and every question was met with an annoyed one word answer.

Second, we ordered two appetizers. But I'll focus on the nachos, considering you're paying almost $1.25 per chip. We ordered the BBQ pulled pork on them which brings the total for the dish to a little over $20. Believe me when I say there was no more than 20 chips on the whole plate. And the meat was close to non-existent. I'm no stranger to decently prices apps, for instance the trashcan nachos from Guy Fieri's in foxwoods. Those are also a little over $20. But for that you get a very large portion, easy to split between 4 people. Loaded with toppings. Keep in mind, that restaurant is in foxwoods. So that nullifies the argument that its the area that causes the poor price for quality.

Lastly, I would like to mention the taste of the food was very good, even the nachos TASTED alright. And the pizza was hands down some of my favorite that I've had in eastern CT. That being said I absolutely could not recommend sitting down and dining in to anyone. Even if you were to just get pizza, you're probably still going to be met with some of the worst service you've ever had in a supposedly "nice" restaracunt. Its like they...

Just came here per a recommendation from a Mystic Employee with my husband and 5 month old daughter. We were told we were not allowed to bring a stroller into the restaurant with no explanation. The hostess was rude but later come to find out doesn't speak English very well (totally fine!) I tried to explain in the moment that I didn't understand why we couldn't bring a stroller in, is there a reason, a policy? Our waitress blonde hair a little bit bigger immediately told me to take a deep breath and then proceeded to dismiss the conversation and say that it was going to be unproductive. Whether educated or not, listen to your customers, be able to explain your policy and apologize that we had a negative experience. I spoke to another employee and she at least listened even though her face looked like she was rolling my her eyes at me but she tried to accommodate and explain the situation. I'm bummed we missed out on the pizza but the way we were treated from the minute we walked in.. I'm not asking much or saying we are royalty but be kind to people that are coming here. Also not to mention I am five months postpartum and for this young girl to tell me to take a deep breath. Are you a licensed therapist? Beyond in appropriate. I have no words. I have never experienced that. They said she is a manager for a reason but it doesn't take much to listen, explain your policy and say.. I'm so sorry you had that experience, let's turn it around. There were so many other ways that the situation could have been handled.

Edited: just looked over other reviews.. the responses from he “owner” are horrible.. YIKES.. glad we didn’t waste our time, money or energy on this...
