McDonald's — Restaurant in Stonington

After sitting for a couple minutes with traffic starting to clear out in front of me, I asked “hello?” into the drive-thru speaker setup.. No response. Pulled up to the window to place my order, and they give me an amount that I question.. Both teenage guys read back someone else’s order to me with my items added on. I told them I was only trying to order the sandwich & shake and they proceeded to ask “so you don’t want the McFlurry?”

“No, my guy; I’m only ordering a sandwich and a shake.”

Both fiddle with the screen for a minute “So, no McFlurry, then?”

Growing impatient with the level of competency at this establishment, I angled my head and asked “what are you talking about? I haven’t asked for a McFlurry once. Again: just the [names two items].”

“Okay, just calm down, sir. Oh, did someone take your order back there?”

“No, I called out a couple times, but you never answered me.”

“Oh, yeah. Your truck didn’t activate our system.”

What? A bare bones fleet Ford F250 with an 8-foot bed doesn’t activate the same system that senses a Toyota Prius or a Ford Festiva? My voice calling into the void doesn’t register in your ear when someone’s sitting there trying to place an order and feeling unheard? I don’t buy into it. Do better,...

If you really want to ruin your night, this place is a must! If I could give them less stars I would. The staff is very rude and should not be in customer service. We were missing food, most of the French fries were just cut raw potatoes, and props to yesterday's nuggets! To top it off, we waited 15 minutes in the drive-thru getting nothing but attitude thrown at us. No wonder why Wendy's trashes you on Twitter. You have low standards for your staff/service and it reflects. This is not the only location of yours that should be shut down in my eyes, but this one takes the Cake for sure! Look at the florescent French Fry. Yummm!!! I'm not sure what the health standards are in Connecticut but I think someone needs to do a little undercover boss or health inspector? I'd been traveling all day and I stopped here because it was late and I wanted something quick to eat before I checked into my hotel. I went inside and they had signs all over the place making a big deal out of how they're cooking the meat for their burgers fresh instead of pre-cooking it and microwaving it the way they used to. Well, they may cook the meat when an order is placed, but the fries were stale, cold, and nasty. I kind of assumed that the entire order would be hot and fresh and I was obviously mistaken. The receipt is so blurry that I can't read anything on it so I couldn't call the restaurant and I contacted the corporate office through their web site.
