I'll start by saying I never write bad reviews but I don't want anyone to have the poor customer experience or waste their money on bad Indian food. There are better Indian options in Houston! I'm shocked this place has good reviews. Notes from my experience:

Went inside to order takeout and it took a while for anyone to take my order at the bar.

I didn't see paratha on the menu but asked if they had it and the host said yes! I ordered my meal. The bartender read my order back to me and it was wrong, I corrected him, and he confirmed the new order. The host said it would take about 10 minutes and that they'd bring it to my car. Great!

Except I waited about 15 min, walked back inside and asked about my order to find out they forgot to make it. (Glad my hunger and impatience moved me to ask!)

So I sit inside to wait instead (noticing a large bug crawling on the waiting chair...)

My order came out pretty promptly after that but when the bartender read my order to me, he'd clearly placed the wrong order.

At that point I was tired and hungry so I left, excited to finally eat. Opened up my paratha first and it was whole wheat flour tortillas! Absolutely not the same as paratha and the host should've said no or specified that it's a tortilla...

The butter chicken (not chicken masala that I ordered) was mediocre at best - overly saucy, too many pepper chunks, poorly seasoned chicken.

The only good I have to say is the portion size was more than enough for one person and the rice was pretty good.

I would not recommend this...

We worked them from start to finish for a wedding. Their team provided amazing service during the event and during the planning beforehand

The tasting experience was so smooth and it was nice getting their thoughts and suggestions. And to get to try and see the various dishes was super helpful. The service they provided there was great and so I figured it would be the same going forward and it was, from the beginning to the end. They made me and my family feel so comfortable and it was a pleasure to work with them to plan the food. They provided us recommendations and suggestions, while still leaving the flexibility for us to choose, but in a way that made it easy to deviate from his recommendation if we felt like we wanted to. While I did not interact with the staff they brought to the event, my family did and they all said they were great and very helpful and nice.

They were able to accommodate a few family member's dietary restrictions around spice and those family members loved the food. Overall, the food quality was awesome and it tasted just as it did during the tasting. Definitely compared to any of the other Indian restaurants I go to, the taste, quality and presentation is top notch. I will definitely highly recommend them and I genuinely appreciate all they did to make my wedding and...

This restaurant is absolutely worth your time. I had them cater my over $100,000+ wedding during COVID, and they absolutely excelled at the their food, their service, and their kindness. Not a single person had anything but praise to say about their food, and absolutely multiple people asked and texted me through the coming days who catered the food since it was so good! Other places we went to would give us food that tasted totally different at the venue.

Now they didn't even know how incredible it was to have Indian Summer as vendors. These people hold themselves to a high standard. They made sure there was always enough food, didn't even charge for minimal vegetarian dishes saying "don't worry about it, we will take care of our vegetarians ourselves because they are my family". The owner is a man of very good character. It's not a facade to get us to drum up business. The owner is just a man of very good character. I've come here for parties, but never had them cater for us before. We will absolutely be using them many more times. At the wedding the owner himself said, I know you will be busy during the wedding so I made a plate for you. Eat this as you walk through the venue. What a pleasure to have at our wedding. An...

Excellent Venue for a Corporate Event! We recently hosted a private corporate meeting at Indian Summers in Sugar Land, and the entire experience was exceptional. The event was incredibly well-organized by the restaurant's team, who ensured everything ran smoothly from start to finish. The absolute highlight was the food. We were treated to an excellent variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. The fresh, hot naan was a table favorite, and the saag paneer and mutter paneer were both perfectly spiced and incredibly flavorful. Even the sweet dishes at the end of the meal were a huge hit with our team. The quality and taste of the food were top-notch.We would highly recommend Indian Summers as a venue for private or corporate events. The service and food are outstanding. Just a small heads-up for those planning a corporate presentation: the projector provided was a bit outdated. Its clarity wasn't very vivid, and it seemed a bit small for such a large, bright room, which made it slightly difficult to see; hope they change it soon. However, this was a minor point in an otherwise flawless event. Everything else was absolutely excellent, and we would gladly host another function here.

Absolutely loved our experience at Indian Summer Restaurant! The food was full of flavor. The Paneer Basil Taco was unique and bursting with flavor, (Tacos are usually made with corn or maida), while the Tricolor Paneer was fresh and delicious. We also enjoyed the Pistachio Kofta paired with Spiced Bullet Naan a rich and satisfying combo. The Vegetarian Fried Rice was tasty and well seasoned. Drinks like the Chaas and Mango Lassi were refreshing and flavorful. For dessert, the Gulab Jamun was served warm and fresh absolutely delightful! The Desilicious Chai was a perfect way to end the meal. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. They also have a party banquet hall, making it a great option for events or celebrations. Overall, nice experience—highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy quality Indian cuisine in a lovely setting!

This was my first time here and had an overall good experience. I saw some reviews complaining about rude staff or managers but everyone treated me as I would expect to be treated as a customer. Very welcoming and checked on me multiple times during me meal. I intended to order the egg biryani but didn't see it on the updated menu so I ordered the chicken biryani. It's boneless, which is exactly what I wanted but the menu didn't specify so I'm throwing that out there because some people want to know that. I got my food in a timely manner. Maybe 10-12 minutes. My meal was delicious. I saw some reviews saying the biryani was not good but I have to disagree. It was really quiet which was totally fine by me. I've got nothing bad to say about this place.
