Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Sugar Land

Our family went into Jersey Mike's for the first time today for a late lunch, and it was excellent. We ordered an Original Italian, Chipolte Chicken Cheese Steak, and Mikes Famous Philly. All three sandwiches were great! The hot sandwich meats were properly seasoned, the griddle chop made just the right texture, and they were properly gooey with cheese without becoming messy. The cold sandwich had a perfect balance of meat & cheese to vegetables, the oil & vinegar mix paired well; it exceeded my expectations for a fast-food Italian sandwich. The only thing that would elevate the Italian sandwich is a good giardiniera, which isn't offered in the restaurant, but I added at home. Great place for a lunch sandwich, and the Giant-size sandwiches could easily serve as two separate meals. Let me start by saying, I’m the type of guy who never writes Google reviews unless I’m trying to get something for free, but I had to make an exception for Jersey Mike’s in Riverpark. These people deserve it.

So, picture this: I roll up like 10-15 minutes before their official opening time (I didn’t even realize), and instead of turning me away or acting annoyed, they legit welcomed me in like I was right on time. Shoutout to the dude with the glasses—absolute legend. He was so chill and friendly, telling me not to worry about being early.

I got the #5 Super Sub, and let me tell you, it was insanely good. The bread was fresh, the meat was perfect, and everything just hit differently that early in the morning. Honestly, I didn’t think food could change my mood like that, but...

The first time I came to this Jersey Mike’s, my food was not ready. I went inside and the workers were just talking to each other and as I went in they just stared awkwardly. I told them that I was picking up my online order which wasn’t ready because one of the guys grabbed the paper order and started making it. I gave this place a chance again today and I even went 20 minutes after the estimated “ready time” and once again I had to wait for them to prepare my order. The only reason I am not giving 1 star is because the food is good, the service is just not great, and the atmosphere is pretty unwelcoming.
