Went here with my mother in the afternoon around 1. I entered the restaurant and was immersed in the colorful atmosphere. We picked a table for two, and saw that the menu has many options. Server was very friendly and came around to help us choose our order and refill tea. We got the Avocado Boat and Spicy Garlic Tuna appetizers. Food looks like it's made for a king! Both were very good and very beautifully made shown in the pictures. Avocado Boat had an interesting sweet, sugary flavor to accompany the fish. Some may not like it. I also had sea urchin sushi. This one has a strange texture similar to ice cream! Some may like it, some may not. Fish were very fresh and tasty😋. Some fish are not available on the daily market. Fresh fish, fairly priced, attentive friendly service, intimate atmosphere. My family (3 kids in their 20's) joins a mix of Summit teens, couples, and families at Taka for a consistently enjoyable experience. For those who dis-like fish, they have plenty of chicken/beef/veggie alternatives.

Be sure to ask for a discount card - a stamp for every time you spend $50, with 10 stamps you get a $50 certificate (essentially 10% off each $50 meal).

Responding to "rental" who says "[sushi] pieces are small" - the pieces are not small by my standards at all, for more americanized experience with huge portions I would recommend Monster Sushi a few blocks away, but the quality isn't as good, service as attentive, nor atmosphere as cozy. I came from living in.NYC so I do know some of great shishi and I now only go here in Jersey. Very clean the owner is an absolute delight she is sincerely kind and takes care of her business.

Basic presentation but I am starting to see a sign of a few wonderfully creative designs but it is the great taste that really matters. The place is very busy but I always get a good table or a place at the Sushi Bar and they never let me feel aquward being a single person and never shunt me of to a very small table by the bathroom.
